Did a search for "Grumpa" and got a lot of threads but all the info on how to make the brass has been erased and replaced by a note on his passing....

Thanks a lot everyone, great advise. Think I'll forgo the disassembly and try the break cleaner spray route. Seems the safest to me at least with my experience level.

Well the price to buy is definitely on the higher side, at a cost of $1.00 per casing.
