Thanks guys, as I have not loaded any yet, I'll try the 3.0 gr first. This rifle is for BAMM matchs, any bolt gun issued between 1880's to 1948. Speed is not all that important, just ringing the...
I found a 1916 pattern small ring last month, it has been re-fit for 308. This was an arsenal job, the bbl, reciever, bolt, & bottom metal all match. The wood is in very good shape also. Very little...

First thing I would is slug the bore. Alot of the older 7 m/m's have a bore diameter around 0.290. The last 7 m/m Fn 98 I had slugged at 0.293. Paper patching can be your best friend in this case....
3 grs of red dot & 125 gr lee= good all around load plinking & cow boy.
Forum: CB Loads / Military Rifles
Also use it in a ruger ranch 7.62x39, 30-40 krag, 308, 30-06, & had used it to fire form cases for 30 herrett. Check the "mouse fart' load data.

Gunor, looks like a lyman 311410 I have. Mine drops at 0.310ish & weights 135 gr with my alloy. Works good for me in 300 blk ar & bolt gun.
I have tried the 93 gr swc with 3 & 4 grs of Red Dot, grouped well @ 25 yds but no cycle for action.
Forum: Cast Boolits
I have used the 160 gr with good results in a few rifles. 30 herret 10 in bbl, 325b 30-30, 308, 30-06,& 300 blk. My ar upper likes it with a 1 in 8 twist, either sub or super. I do have a ruger bolt...

As Ghosthawk said 3 gr of red dot & the lee bator is a great 22 replacement. Used my #1 ruger for best results in that gun, w-w bass & cci sr primers. 1 ragged hole @ 25 yds off rest & bag. Need to...

That's as kool as pp'ing on a rainy day.

Gunner, that's how I do it. Works fine in a .223, & 7.62 x 39. Have a bunch of 5,56 strippers. & 1 odd one from the sks I had. Now if the 300 blk would just show up, I would be a happy camper.

Same for me, 400 & 20 minutes, also drop into tub of cold water. Been using Smoke's clear for 38 & 44's for cowboy stuff. Really like how it covers. And makes cleaning SO much easier. Ordered more...

30-40 krag hi-wall, 200 gr lee pp'ed at 100 yds sitting on the range frame. Bang poof, took awhile for the feathers to quit falling.
Forum: Coatings and Alternatives
Think I would try the pp'ing. I've used it before, worked well in a 303 Savage, need to finish that one, lol.

I have a #5 in 30-40 krag. Barrel is marked on bottom ahead of forearm 30 Govt. Odd bit of timing on this post, found this 3 years ago last month.

I found a pound of this in our lgs awhile back for a good price. Knowing loadbook showed it's use, it followed me to the house. What I'm wondering is can this powder be down loaded like 2400, or is...

Range day yesterday with cz 23, stevens 325b, & 03a3. First time trying pc & rifle. Lee 175 sp 8 m/m, w/w cases, cci l/r primers, 13 gr red dot. Shot at 25 yds, good grouping with rebuilt eyes using...

Been waiting for my 300 ruger to show up, but do have the same rifle in 7.63x39 to play with. Now that I've kinda figured out the PC thing this ought to get a hoot. I do have a 300 ar, but can't seem...

I just started pc'ing for 38, 44, & 3 30 cal molds. Is for sure cleaner then lube, now to see if it works. Range day tuesday.
Forum: CB Loads / Military Rifles
Both loads are starting ones from Lyman books. The unique load is from the #3 manual, & the 5744 one is from the newest book. I havn't done much more load work yet.
Forum: CB Loads / Military Rifles
I also have a #5 Krag roller. Graf's brass & NOE's 316299 with unique or 5744 work very well.
Forum: Cast Boolits
I have used a 30 cal RCBS collet puller to swage down an NOE 316299 nose. Takes a bit of time to get the feel of it, but does work.
Forum: Single Shot Guns
Nice find, & have the rifle to boot makes it even better.
