There is lots of load data out there for it but I prefer cfe pistol in my 45 loads I run 230gr and 5.8gr of cfe. I have lots of Longshot on hand but I use it for my 10mm rounds.

I run 180 TC cast in my guns with 8.8gr longshot and they are clocking 1275 fps avg and very accurate. That's my plinking load. I run 200gr gold dots with longshot at 1200fps for my carry load.
So I did a ladder test and loaded 5 rounds @ 11.6,11.8,12,+12.2gr of longshot and shot them. Absolutely no pressure issues, I did start to get some lead streaking on the last round of 12.2gr all...
I see that hodgdon shows load data for Ruger only loads in 45 colt. I have a Ruger Blackhawk Bisley 7.5 barrel. I am using a Missouri 255gr Keith style swc cast boolit just wondering if anyone has...
I stumbled upon this thread a few weeks back and reached out to Doug to have the cylinder done on my Ruger large frame I just bought used. When I measured the throat diameter I noticed they were...
I've been running the Missouri 300 hammers in my Ruger super Blackhawk hunter for quite some time. I'm loading them over book Max coal of 1.610 and 21gr of H110. Book Max is 19gr. I have wonderful...
I load 40 and 10mm with longshot I use a lighter load with cast 180 and a heavy load with gold dots 180gr for 40 and 200gr for 10mm. I haven't chronoed the 40 but the 10mm loads are at 1200 for the...
With CFE I would start at 6.1 gr and work up. If you are going to run heavier loads in a glock I would look at a heavier spring and an aftermarket barrel that has a fully supported chamber like KKM...
I run 45acp 225 TC behind 5.8gr CFE pistol in my 1911 pistols we the coal of 1.200 it shoots accurate and has never jammed in any of my pistols.
My Marlin 1895 likes 15.5 grains unique under a 405gr boolit I started at 12gr and worked up the best groupings I had at 100 yards was with 15.5 using starline brass and federal large rifle primers.

That I'm not sure a friend of mine sent me the picture and wanted to know if it was real, she did send another pic and no head stamp but looks like it has a primer and looks as if it's crimped at the...

I've never seen a bullet like this before wondering if someone can help identify it?
I've used mostly cfe pistol cause it's cheap, readily available, meters well and is accurate. I've also used tight group.
I load my 300 powder coated mbc hammers at 20 gr h110 and a coal of 1.650 and a medium crimp. It is not near the crimp groove but will shoot one hole groups at 25 yards with my Ruger super Blackhawk...
So I do have some load books and only a small amount of knowledge loading cast so go easy on me. My Lyman 49 shows load data for a 173 gr boolit my Lyman 47 doesn't really have as much for 30-30 as I...
Thanks so did you go 1.250 for feeding? Or to stay off the rifling? Most of my books show 1.260 but didn't see any load data with Longshot and cast boolits.
So I bought a new gun got a 1911 to elite 10mm and have loaded 10mm for my Glock and always used the 180 Hornady hap bullet usually use Longshot and 9gr of powder. I know better than to shoot cast in...

Yes it is got it off the assembly line around June of last year. I've had zero issues with it. Also just bought a rem 700 long range ss 300 Rum that shoots beautiful and seems very well made the bolt...

Out of respect for the boolits I changed my shooting posture which led to the top right grouping I was holding the front forearm of the rifle in the others the top left I used my normal posture of...

Tried to post a pic not sure if it's able to be seen but it's of the target with 13 rounds put into it.

Ok so been playing with a couple different loads for this gun and think I've found my favorite so far. I'm shooting a Missouri bullet 405gr buffalo coated with 54gr of 4064 seated at the crimp groove...
Forum: Cast Boolits
Shooting was at 50 yards but with scope on a shooters rest steady aim to be exact.

228435 this is my 4064 load shoots accurate but the recoil is far from mild. The bottom round is the first shot before I adjusted the scope.
