Glad to hear you were able to run it up to 3.1gr. Neither the 2 or 2.2 gr test loads would cycle the slide on my RIA 1911.

Looking at their burn rate chart, it's actually 4 spots ahead of BE.

I just loaded up a small batch with 2 and 2.2 grains. Hopefully I get to the range this weekend to try it out.

Looking for some info using ba 10 with 124 gr berry's plated rn. Vectan website lists chargers running from 1.9 to 2.3 using A Lyman 356402. Seems a little on the light side. The site also doesn't...
Concentrate on having a consistent grip from shot to shot.

I may just invest in another checkmaker from Pat Marlin. I have one for the 41 mag and it works great.
MtGun44 has it right. There is a definite possibility of sticking a bullet in the bore by downloading 110/296 too much. When I first started reloading, everywhere I read said to reduce max charge for...
Someone will correct me if I'm wrong, but that one will not handle tier 3 loads. (30,000 psi)It should be able to handle the tier 2 loads fine.(up to 23,000 psi)

I'm confused too. I bought some pb checks in 41 mag from the same vendor and had no problems with the same type set-up. Maybe this batch was annealed too soft?
Forum: Gas Checks
I tried funneling and polishing the lee die and then running the bullets thru base first to seat the checks. I also tried using sizing wax to help the process.
Forum: Gas Checks
These were already sized to .358 before I tried seating the checks.
Forum: Gas Checks
I thought of that too. I used some imperial sizing wax. I don't know if makes a difference, but these seem to be made of a softer material than the ones I bought for the .41 mag.

So I took the dremel with a cone shaped grinding stone to create a little more of a funnel into the die. I then took some 800 grit paper on a dowel rod to smooth up the inside. No difference in...

I'm not seating the check in the lee. I check and lube in the Lyman. I think I will try funneling the Lee die and attempt seating the check in it.

I've used them successfully in the past in .41 mag. I picked some up.357 and .45 to try out. Sizing the boolits to...

Don't forget the guys who shoot trap and skeet eat up a lot of powder.
Forum: Factory Rifles
If it was at a good price I'd snatch it up. They're hard to find. If it doesn't work out, you shouldn't have a problem getting rid of it.

Not a rifle but I believe the SW x frames in .460 are a gain twist as well. I've heard nothing but good things from them in terms of accuracy.

I had very good accuracy with 4227 and 325gr cast. 25.4gr was good for 1250 out of a 7.5" SRH.
I hear they're pretty effective on mice and other critters.[smilie=1:
