Thanks for the replies.
I ordered some TC's (exposed type) with connectors from Amazon. I think I'll try to cast one in a bullet first.
I am curious how you spot weld the two wires together...

Actually I'm using HiTek and trying to improve my process. I'm transitioning from a full size oven to a mid size convection toaster oven and I'm over cooking the bullets. Coating is curing fine but...

I guessing that was a plain unshielded thermocouple since it just had the two wires and a bead (spot-welded junction). I was afraid the lead may short out the TC and prevent it from reading...

Wanting to insert a TC into a bullet to monitor bullet temps in oven. What type TC are you guys using? I assume it is the "sheathed" type and not one with an exposed junction?
Do you just...

Getting ready to print the wall extender this afternoon. Instructions say no support req'd but that looks like an awfully long unsupported area at the bottom?? I'm thinking it may need some minimal...

I'm jealous. Started my print this am and it said 32 hrs on a Prusa MK3S+. Motor and electronics should be arriving today.

I had the bright idea to buy some 90 gr jacketed hollow points to load some screaming 9mm. Those things were so short I couldn't get enough neck tension to hang onto them with "thin walled brass". ...
You might try walnut too. It won't cut as well as glass beads but may leave a more polished surface, if you're looking for bling.
Have heard about the bulge for years but never saw pics of the barrels. Thanks for sharing.

I've used contact cement. Used to get it in a brown bottle with a brush. I'm using it from a qt. can I bought twenty years ago to glue down outdoor carpet on a front porch. Brush on both sides,...
Forum: Lead and Lead Alloys
Used a wood splitter. Had to climb over a bunch of junk in the garage to get to it. Not sure whether it split it or just ripped it into pieces. They're ugly and sharp but they'll fit in the pot...

And I even have one. Boy, you guys are making me feel dumb now. In my defense, I did know where to come to get good ideas.
Thanks Guys

Duh, forgot I have a Sawz-All. Wax sounds good for lube. Stand by.
Forum: Lead and Lead Alloys
I have a block of lead roughly the size of a SFRB. Any easy way to get it into my 20# pot? I've tried a band saw, not sure I'd live long enough to complete a cut. Wacked it a couple of times with...
SOLVED!
I like the possibilities with a drill press. Never thought of using one to center things up.
Duh, never thought to use the RN. Tried it and was still slightly marking the bullet. ...

Sounds like a good idea. Guess I know what I'm doing this afternoon.

That's what's surprising. Range lead w/a splash of tin, 2 cts of Hi-Tek, sized to 0.358". NEW Starline brass, sized, expanded w/NOE 360x356 expander. Boolit has a...
My RCBS seating stem is putting a ring around the nose of my Lee 358-158RF boolits. It doesn't seem to mark my 358-125's. Probably doesn't affect anything other than looks. What are you guys with...

Thanks for the ideas. I already have chain lube and chain wax, both aerosol. Never thought of trying something like that.

Can anyone recommend a good oil for an attic fan? I have two fans and it seems like I take one down every other year to clean and relube. I've used the old 3in1 motor oil, specialized electric...
Look up Full Lead Taco on the interweb. He helped design the NOE 310-225-RN and has some videos on it. I can't help you much. I'm looking at a couple of hundred on them in a jar in front of me,...
