Since you owned a 650 you know the difference between manual index and auto index.
I think the question for me would be who had issues with what.
I still own a Lee 'Turret' (tool head) which...

You will find two things,
1. Cracked cases 'Chirp' like a cricket, makes them easy to sort out without going blind.
2. With straight side cases, you often don't need to resize.
Any taper in the...

Same with me,
I use a 1050 to process, 'Universal' decapping die, swage the crimp, then size/trim.
If your cases aren't swaged, don't try to do them on a 650 or 750, no backer die/rod in the case...

Short, small mouth cases is where I have issues, the 1050 stroke is LONG and it doesn't matter which manufacturer shell plate I use, 5.56/.223 & .204 are problems.
I rigged up a long bristle brush...

I just ordered this decapping die, I have an issue with the shell plate allowing the brass to tilt and with the universal decapping dies, the pin/rod winds up outside the case mouth and puts a dent...

That's actually pretty slick!
I see you check to see/feel for the bullet placement before seating, something I wish I could do on other feeders.

The 1050 linkage isn't all that strong, I call it 'Mystery Metal' when I replace it with something known & stronger.

I'm the same way.
Old tractors with modern charging system, starter & electronic ignition.
Everything is dead common, so parts will be available for another 50 years with no issues.
Those $12 carb...

Depends on the length of pins, diameter of pins, and the bevel on the ends of pins.
Guntap pins work quite well for me in about all brass including .223

What he said x2.
I'm not familiar with 'Grizzly' lathes, but I will tell you a flimsy bed/tool head on a lathe will be more trouble than you can believe.
It's easier to take slop out of an old...

I use buckets/bins with cardboard saying the last process it went through thrown on top.
It's cheap & effective.
I still wouldn't have bought a 1050 for just 5,000 pieces... But I'm stubborn and...

Mr. Morris is one of them with alien DNA, he builds from scratch!
I'm a 'Modifier', I buy off the shelf and modify to make it do a little something I want.

I like mine, works good, and with somewhat sharp edges it brightens badly tarnished brass also.
Using a separator that will hold water it the bucket speeds things up and gets the chips out better...

The first statement, "3,800 pounds of brass"...
Combine that with the third statement, "Sort By Head Stamp".
That means VISUAL, HAND SORTING!

I agree.
A couple of 5 gallon buckets isn't going to warrant the money for a 1050, and once you get a hand swager process going, it won't take long.
Also, 'Processed' is a relative term, from...
