The weaver k series is guaranteed to hold zero for 10000 rounds of 375 h&h. I've only got mine on a 223 but I've never had to adjust zero over the years and I've dropped it a few times.

I've loaded 155gn round nose over a nice slow powder and got 1200-1250fps. Goes off with a nice kaboom compared to the little nine mil.

I've had great success with 30grs 2f under a patched ball in my Lyman .50 and it's still doing over 1100fps so it is more than enough to poke holes in paper at 50yds.

I don't run a temp gauge I just go and start casting and get it working. Degrease the mold preheat the mold in/on the pot and start casting quick until you get full fillout and try and maintain that...
