I don't know if it's the same thing but I do have a LEE case mouth expander, I mainly use it for 7.62x39 cast bullets. I see NOE sells expander plugs, which one would you recommend?
Last night I...

That's very interesting, I didn't think about the chamber face scraping off the PC. I did pull some of my rounds that have a mild crimp, the case has scraped off the coating where it was crimped so...

As an update I'm still having problem, even with a very nice 357 Arsenal mold. It's a 125gr truncated cone and I've tried everything I can think of with powders, sizing dies, pre/post sizing at...

Hey all, been a long time since I posted last.
I've had zero issues with a Lee RN powder coated through my P01, but this new Shadow 2 is giving me fits. The leade is definitely shorter. Aside...

I have some powdercoat smear that isn't coming out with Chore Boy. Any common chemicals that will remove it?

These are the 6 cup two-pack. Interesting they have a different formula. I got these for the kitchen anyway, just thought it interesting.

Hey guys, I happened to notice this on the Ziploc #5 containers I just bought...

You guys are killin' me. I revolutionize powdercoating and you talk about rubbing cats.

I discovered something completely by accident. Using the HF red, black airsoft bb's and a square #5 Ziploc container, I was shaking and just kinda tossed it lightly in the air.
Now when I just...

Thanks to you guys, not only do I not see any more leading, but feeding is improved and I can now shoot my polygonal Kahr K9. I am thrilled!
My CX4 suffered from leading in the first 2" and now...

On my very first powdercoat, I resized them back to .452 and saw some sort of plastic smear down the barrel. It scrubbed out but not what I was expecting.
I double coated my next batch and they...

I'm just relaying what I saw in another post.
A guy put some pure lead/PC through his 9mm and 45acp. The 45 did fine, bu the 9 being a much higher pressure/speed caliber pretty much squished down...

Hickok, it's actually an old Redding I found on Ebay a few years ago. $25, works great.

I went ahead and recoated them, coverage is better. I didn't resize this time, so hopefully the smearing won't happen again.
On a side note, I want to PC my 155gr bullets for my x39 bolt action. ...

These seem to be coming out a slightly lighter color after hand tumbling for 30 seconds in a #5 tub. They are a bit blotchy so I'll have to get some black airsoft bb's next chance I get.
Oh as...

Gotcha, I will try that. I figured something was wrong.

I honestly don't know, lighting wasn't very good...cloudy and getting toward sunset. It did look different from the usual lead smears.
Also, these aren't red, more of a clotted blood/brownish...

I finally tried using the HF red and using my vibratory tumbler (bullets are in a freezer bag). It coated decently enough, but certainly not up to electro gun perfection.
Accuracy seemed decent...

I figured it out. Set my hot plate at low, put the whole weight in a cast iron pan, covered it and let the rubber/plastic soften up. I was then able to pretty much peel it off like an orange.

Here's a pic. It's more of a soft rubberized coating, about 1/8" thick. I tried softening it with a heat gun but still took forever. I have three of these left.

I scored 50# of dive weights today. What is the best way to remove the thick plastic molded to the lead?
Forum: Cast Boolits
It's official. I calculated my 9mm LRN are cheaper than 21lr at today's prices. 50 rounds are about $3.

Agreed, zero leading in my 21, or my friend's new 41.
