Bigted,I use that same boolit in my 1895. Very accurate with 26 gr. 2400 RCBS cast bullet handbook says 1326 fps.

I shoot mine sized .458 about 1300fps very accruate alittle ruff on the shoulder.Couldn't imagine pushin to 1600fps. It'll still shoot thru 10" poplar tree at 1300fps

Gar,Thanks for compliments.Both shoot good got deer with scoped rifle with JBullet.Going to work load up for the RCBS 32-170 soon.

Put these together myself.the one with peep sight Turkish dated 1936.Scoped is Nazi 98.Both 8mm. Thanks for lookin Flinter62

Thoose barrells were made by Numrich Arms. They may still have some but they are unfinished

Flounderman,On the instuctions to grind notch on follower if that's to help feed rimmed cartridge. Maybe try to put cartridge in with one rim in front of the other.It worked in siamise a friend had....

I have one made 1962 with 4 power scope. With that bullet Sz. 358,35gr.IMR4320 about 1900fps puts them in one hole the size of 1/2 dollar at 100 yds. That load is in RCBS Cast Handbook. Flinter62

RCBS cast bullet manual dosn't have it listed. Looking to get about 2000fps out of 30-06. Been using 10gr. 700x very accurate,just not enough power.Any info would be appreciated.Flinter62

Deadwood,Most wood ramrods break when loading if you grab to high up the rod to push ball down bore.6-8 inch at atime.

I had 58 cal. with 24" barrell. Loaded with RB & 60gr. 2F took couple deer with it,pleasure to carry.Wish i had it back. Do as you see fit. Flinter

There is a military surplus not far from me that would clean surplus ammo in a cement mixer.I shot it with no problem.

My 71/84 won't chamber .446 bullet in Betrem brass. Hope your combination matchs your chamber.Seems that these rifles were chambered for under sized bullets releying on bullet upsetto fill...

I have the same rifle called trails end. Got it to shoot cb's. The best cast bullet was 325 gr. fn monster custom mold that i no longer have acces to . Shot jacked bullet good. Mine liked 300-325gr...

Maven,I had the same problem with the Lyman 45 cal. HB. Never did shoot good. Stuck with TC maxie.Figured maybe HB not desinged quite right.
