I do not believe in the non +P .38 Special. I am not saying that standard pressure loads don't work or that Larry Gibson's test results showing that the 135GDHPSB was actually standard pressure is...

Forum: Boolit Lube !
Imperial sizing die wax is the best case lube i have ever used and is worth spending 10 bucks for the thousands of cases a tiny will lube. That being said, I have lubed thousands of cases...
I have had gratifying results with 800X and cast bullets in .357 mag. I have not used your boolit but 150 grain button nosed wadcutters and 160 grain RNFs have given me 1150 fps from a 3" revoler...

I think that there are multiple aspects to consider. It IS true that exposed lead at the base is not necessarily a problem as evidenced by exposed base jacketed bullets. However , it is also true...
The frustration with 800X seems unending for some. I have not had difficulty metering it with the Lee Auto Disc....but it doesn't meter like ball powder. Develop a consistent rythym. Give a tap to...
FWIW, I have seen several sources assert that the brisance/formulation of CCI Small pistol magnum and Small rifle primers is identical. Of couse small primers are all identical in size so fit isn't...
Here is what I have. Source was Texas Ammunition via an Article by Jan Libourel in Guns and ammo Jan 1999.
Tactical level loads (essentially 45 auto +P and usable in all 45s suited to +p loads)

I have found some 1974 Hodgdon data with card wads and trap 100 versus plastic shotcup wads. Charge weights are higher with the card wads but not as great a percentage as demonstrated in the .410/28...
So I'm back with what I was able to dig up in the old data I have. I THOUGHT that I had some 12 gauge Red dot and Unique data with card wads but I haven't found it. I do have some .410 and 28 gauge...
Longbow, I went looking and didn't find it....yet. I'll look some more and try to locate it to share.
I have some of that data. I would have to dig it out to give comparative numbers but it is indeed higher in charge weight--around 20% as I recall.

I save all stick ons in a seperate stash for casting muzzleloader fodder. If you don't need soft/nearly pure lead for such a purpose then up to about a third stick ons to clip ons still makes decent...

Mentos and similar plastic containers work great for carrying/dispensing extra .22 rimfire ammo. TicTac containers are perfect for airgun pellets.

I have fired 5 of them. I own 3. All have worked well and shown decent accuracy. Careless loading of the mags WILL result in rimlock. As mentioned earlier in the thread it is best to consder the "30...
Ronnie, Yes. Lee single and double cavity molds are shipped with attached handles. The six cavity mold blocks ship without handles and Lee sells the handles separately. Those handles are enginneered...
Cheapest handles for your molds are Lee handles sold for the Lee 6 cavity molds. They don't look as snazzy as Lyman /Ideal handles but they fit and work.(Most of the time they seem to fit okay right...
Jim, The Lee charge table is intended for use with any wad column that will provide proper fit.
HogTamer, You mentioned that you wish someone would measure the internal volumes of various hulls.......There is a most interesting blog by DaveinAZ regarding shotgunning, waterfowl hunting, and...
I believe they are intended for all hulls. I've never used one.
Richard Lee used some common sense............he looked at huge ammounts of data and chose powders and charge weights that were safe in any combination of components within the specified hull types....
Petander, Wow. I don't know whether it does a roll crimp as set up (it seems highly possible that the powered station will roll crimp if used alone) but that is an impressive bit of loading equipment.
Thanks for the answers. I never realy considered that the roll crimp allows one to compensate for wad stack variables in the crimp. For my own purposes, since I have wad combos that work in a slug...
A question-Why go to all the trouble of purchasing/building roll crimpers? I realize that a roll crimp can allow slightly more usable hull space but I cannot think of anything Iwant to load in 12...
Red Bear, Ummmm, what do you mean? Certainly we can load shotshells without using one piece plastic shotcup wads...... but some sort of wad is essential.
