I load on a Mec 650. For a long time I wanted shotguns in each guage until I realized I could load 12 guage down to 3/4 oz. Any lower then that is 410 territory.

I bought some medical lead that had cadmium in it. I didn’t know it at the time but that lead was softer than pure lead and melted at 550 degrees. I have to dilute it to make it useable.

I have the 550 and I'm very happy with it, but sometimes I wish I had bought the 650 instead. I like to reload but sometimes it's a chore and the 650 would make quick work of what I do.
A friend...
That’s good to know. I know a lot of people don’t reload shotshell, but I like too. Plus if the SPP and SRP drought drags on for a long time I can always reload them instead.

Spoke to my local shop. He has some Large Pistol primers, and there's no shortage of Shotgun primers, but he has to get creative for Small Pistol primer. He has some in a generic looking box that...
I have an R51 and I broke the magazine springs by only loading 5 at a time for the first 500 rounds. Haven’t had a failure in a very long time.
I bought a Gen 2. Broke it in with a couple of hundred rounds, the springs are pretty stout at first. Got 1,500 rounds through it now. Haven’t had a problem since the first couple hundred. Going to...

French load data isn’t cool. They don’t like to put the OAL in it.

A wet tumbler would get you the brass finish you like with a lot less effort.
You can stay on the Single Stage if you like. I like progressive for plinking ammo, it turns out respectible stuff.

I was looking at 38 Special wadcutter data. 2.7 grains per round gives you way over 20,000 rounds per keg. That would last me about ten years.
Wonder if it burns clean at that pressure.

I load on a Mec 650 just like that. That one looks like it was rarely used. If it has the rest of the priming system I’d go for it. If not you can replace it, but I would definitely haggle for $50...

Yeah and with the election coming it’s only going to get worse.
They stopped making them last February. I like mine, but expected more from it.

I’ve recently bought several from Tom. Really liking his products.

A lot of folks were hoping for something else. A carbine was what a lot of people were hoping for, sadly they were disappointed.
I already have a Ruger for my Semi-auto 22 needs, but if I was in...

I have a few 9 mm MP molds with hollow points and they are great, but making them work in all my pistols got to be a pain. I don’t like going “off book” with boiling recipes.
I don’t have as much...
You could do a Remington R51. They are pretty cheap and I sure will climb in value once they stop making them. It’s got that Pedersen system so it’s bound to be a collector’s item one day.

I've had a 550B for years and it's served me well. I would advise you to get the 750XL because you can add on to it in years to come.
I don't have buyer's remorse with the 550B, but I wish I could...

I’ll jump into a six year old thread. I have a couple of MP Molds that are great, but I just bought a couple of Accurate molds and I like them even more.
I’ve moving towards keeping it simple, no...

Stick with the KISS principal when loading 9mm. For me, that means truncated, no-lube groove with a bevel base.
You’ll have to decide what works for you and your guns.

I agree with Fred. I love Clays in a 12 gauge, but there are much better choices for pistol.

I bought my first Accurate mold for 40 S&W and love it. Really great Bullet.
Any recommendations for a 9 mm Bullet preferably 147 grain.

I appreciate the honesty. I have a few of his molds and really like them. But I got tired of struggling to find load data and having to experiment.
What I’m really interested in is finding a mold...

Planning on buying a couple of Gen 5 Glocks. I’ve had to have Dougguy cut the throat for a barrel of mine before and I’m not really interested in doing that again.
Is anyone having problem loading...
