Mine sure has way more than the normal four, five or six grooves. From the sixties, IIRC. Was my dads. Shoots j-stuff like a bolt gun, lead, not good.

Started at age 12 in 1956 with 454190 and a 357446 double cavity moulds. Still at it 63 years later and have about 85 moulds, only ten or so I still use. Gonna have a sale one day.

Harry Pope and others made "breech muzzle loaders" for match shooting. Bullet was loaded from the muzzle using a false muzzle, paper patch, starter and rammed down, then a cartridge was placed in...
I shoot more Unique than any other powder. .380, 9, 38, 357, 44s, 45cap, 45c, 222,223 with cast, 308, 30-06, 45-70 all with cast. 12 gauge heavy trap and game loads. Name says it all.
Ill let a few thousand others try out a brand new $1500 shotgun. My 1100s work just fine.

Original 92 converted to .357 back in the sixties, 94, 44 mag, 94ae, 30-30, Marlin 336 30-30, 94 Marlin 44 mag, 336-444, and a Rossi Rio Grande 45-70. Wish I'd kept my 39.

I have the original, 336-444, with the Monte Carlo, half magazine.

Card wad under the ball worked for me in the rifle-musket with round ball. Don't put anything over the ball as you can ruin a barrel if the ball overruns the wad.

Had one. Breech seemed a little thin for any kind of heavy load. Fit and finish was outstanding. Also had the Mortimer 12 ga shotgun. Gibbs didn't get used much, can't speak about the accuracy as...

First mould I bought, around 1958. Liked it so much I got a 4 cavity later. For years it was my go to for 38 spec/357. Best load in my stainless 4 3/4 Blackhawk was 12/2400. In the files I have a...

84, I think. I keep finding more as we moved recently and haven't stabilised. I know at least three more that I loaned out decades ago.
I now have four cavity Lymans in my favorite handgun styles,...
Many years of experience with both, both as a customer and dealer. I have sent ten times as many Tauri back for serious quality problems as Smiths. Problem is, Taurus didn't fix sixty percent of...
I use Unique for mid range, 2400 for full power in my Ruger. Unique in my ROA conversion. Keep it simple and old school.
Shot #1 of 2 that I bought today. Poor man's trigger job, only had time for twelve shots. 15 yards, one flier, rest right around POA inside 2 1/2". I'm pleased with it. Next, trigger job on #2,...

I knew Webb from the old days at Friendship. He built some great slug guns and also shot them well. Not cheap. Good guy. I always spent one day on the slug gun range watching those guys make the...

Normal size for my guns in 38 and 357 is .357. A 92 Winchester I had rebarreled to 357 in the early 60s needs 358. A six inch Security Six from the first run groups better than my old K38 if I use...

12 gauge is normally .729, not .720. .720 at the muzzle would make it about imp cyl, if the true bore is .729 or .730. The .685 would be a tight full with .045 constriction. Of course the only way...

Had one. Never got near the accuracy from it that I did from the .54 Renegade. Tried rb, maxi, REAL, minies in three styles. Nada.

Win 92 converted to 357(doesn't count for this discussion), Win 94, older 94 Marlin both in 44 mag AND what looks like similar type barrels, a 336 and a 94 AE both 30-30 plus an original 336 444. ...

They were originally designed to be shot as cast, from pure lead. Front band is oversize, actually original design was a reverse taper from smallest bottom to oversize top. This was long ago, before...

Great guns. I have three, one from each period up to but not including a G2, the earlier two set up as carbine with .22, .223, and .30-30 barrels. There are seven barrels for the pistol that I...

My favorite is Lyman 358432, a heavy, solid base that crimps about 1/4" behind the nose. Mine come out at about 160 grains and I have not found a .38 they don't shoot well in. Got it when we began...

Just moved and in my stuff I found a Potter hardness tester I bought from Gil Hebard in Knoxville, IL, back in the sixties I think. Since I don't use it, what would be a fair asking price? It is...
