Just to add some data. My two 686 no dash guns:
Purchased: 2-82 6" s/n AAC85XX and 1-84 8" ACK36XX

They've seen little action in the last 30+ yrs, but look purty in my safe.

I REALLY agree with the use of a dolly of some sort.
1. Order one from Harbour Freight. Not very expensive, and work well
