Yes but the picture does not make the step look as big as it is. The band is sized to .452 but the nose is around .401 I thought I was buying a FMJ profile. Even seated at the top band theese things...

Hi all, I am having trouble trying to decide on just how to load my new .45 boolits using a lee 230 "LEE MOULD TL452-230-2R DBL CAVITY" http://www.grafs.com/product/232560 It was the only in stock...
Forum: Cast Boolits
My lee does this even with grafite spray lube, (two cavity btw)

Clean away accuracy? never heard of that. Leading is when smeared led sticks to the barrel, it sucks. Cleaning a dirty bore is fine, but you can go without it. I would delead a barrel before use.

I thought finding lead was hard, I need some new molds now and cant stand it, every place I try has some of the things I need but not all. I want to cry. Does anyone know where I can find...

I have a simmilar leadding isue, hopeully will be reolved by sunday. But if you are death crimping that could be a serious issue (it was for me). Have you tried pulling some loaded boolits and seen...

In ca they cost 5 cents each recycling is the law. I have been pouring lead into cinder blocks and then hammering them out, problem is I get concrete stuck. I need an angle Iorn contraption. You...

I keep leading my mold, what am I doing wrong? its a lee, i sprayed it down with Graphite, I guess it wore off. Right now I have some stuck in the lube groove, before I had it stuck in the joints...

Yesterday I used diping tobbaco that lost its flavor. The Cope is good chew, but not a good flux. Motor oil seems to work for me, as I dont have to chase after the bits of burnt wood

A jacket to clean out the leadding? Cool idea, what alloy were you using?

It is always at least "once fired" only way to know its trully once fired is to make your own. Police ranges ar also a good source but even they often use remanufactured ammo.

I see stuff made out of tin in thrift stores all the time, problem is, its usually copper plated. One time I was using a copper spoon to skim took me a wile to figure out why my mix had gold stuff on...

I am using the dillion deal for belling/expanding, and a lee seater no crimp. Before when I was using more bell, I had to crimp it away, which lead to gas cutting and horrors like jamming and of...

I tried seating unsized boolits but even they got constricted. Is powder choice a problem (nothing I can do really, the planet seems sold out of it)?
Forum: Cast Boolits
I got super accuracy out of my springger 1911 and my cast 230gr over 5.2 of hp-38/w231, but after 50 shots my bore is uggly. My slugged barrel is .450, boolits sized to .4515, tumble lubed with the...

Hi all, wondering if anybody shoots cast through a pistol cal carbine, preferably a 9mm ar-15. Im concidering a new build that is cheap on ammo and not a .22. Wondering if you have any problems with...

7.62x54r usually a hungarian or polish bullet, its a mild steel core, so wont help you much in casting. Thoes use to be very cheap fodder for the Mosin Nagant, hmmmm olden days

I posted early if it makes you all feel better. The turkey fryer got so hot and very fast definatly worth the upgrade from the coleman stove. So what is the bottom line does the color have any effect?
Forum: Cast Boolits
Hi all, do duller cast bullets=harder with the same alloy? I upgraded my heat source (Turkey Fryer Super Awsome!) and am finally getting dull bullets from pure PB vs the previous solid Silver look...
Forum: Cast Boolits
Thats what I figure, will im gunna try some mixes, my pure PB is just to soft

Im new to casting, but like reloading if you do it to save money you are wasting your time. This like reloading is a hobby in itself, you have controll over every step of your shooting, and it breaks...

Thanks mine look like the above ones, I love that look to, but the casting pot also has a lava lamp effect on me as well

Im still learning so, does shinny = bad?

What should I use to slug the barrel? will a lubed unsized boolit do the trick?
