I had a Taurus 357 6' revolver with factory ported barrel 10 or so years, ago that shot jacketed bullets great but choked on any cast bullets. Had to clean ports.

I get the best results with bullets sized to 309 for my Ruger 30 Carbines. 231 for light loads, AA9 for heaver loads.

I tried reselling shot once, no one wants to pay the freight. I use it to alloy with now.

I load all of those with HP38/Win231 or WST; If I want a mag load, use AA-9

Old and arthritic but I still stand.

I use WC820 and AA9 for my M1 Carbine loads; works great. Lyman's 311359GC.

HS-6, WST, Power Pistol are my three main 9mm powders.

An old time dealer I knew back in Pittsburgh always called them bullet heads. Never knew anyone else that did.

Sounds like you are prepared like myself. I surprised you can do that there with all the firearms restrictions in Australia.

WST and 231/HP38 are my powders for 9mm practice; HS6 for top end; Power Pistol and AutoComp also work. I use AA7 for some jacketed bullet loads. Unique was a fizzle for me.

I would load and shoot, indoor or outdoor, unless the indoor range complains. You'll soon use them up. If want to PC, do newly cast. YMMV

I have never in 50+ years used any mold cavity "drop out' stuff. I have polished a few, it works.
