It slightly deforms my boolits.
The sizing die in the Star sizes .3565" and a pulled boolit at the base miced .3560". The Saeco 929 is long @ .713". Eyeballing the base to the crimp witness mark...

Interesting, I load 9mm with .357 sized boolits and don't have any problems shaving, you just have to bell enough. I haven't pulled a boolit and miced it though. How much neck tension does it take...

One thing that isn't included in the LEE instructions is to lube the steel insert that closes down the collet with a high pressure grease.

Hay Ben you'll never get consistent primer crush with a stop based priming (forster, dillon 1050 and the like) system because there is way too much variation in primer height.
The only way I know...

Rob45 I'm not MtGun44 but as I understand what he was saying is that you don't need to bump the shoulder back to SAAMI size to spec but just bump the shoulder just under the size of your chamber to...

I don't think your going to ever see Trail Boss in Quickload because how it reacts when it approaches 100% loading density. Here is what the man said about this.

You mean LEE is using HYPERBOLE in a print add, go figure! It's a maximum of 200 million rounds over 5 years, which is intentionally a way over blown number so they don't have to re-negotiate the...

I found the bore cross sectional calculator today. The icon with the calipers measuring the case opens up the case information table and next to the cross-sectional bore entry is a button to open up...

Your not using Hornady shell holders are ya?

How are you measuring bore cross sectional area? I know 3 different ways to measure case capacity but haven't been hit by the clue bat when it comes to the bore cross sectional area! I'd appreciate...
RRA uses a 223 wylde chamber which is a modified of the 556 chamber but the throat diameter is .2240". It's obviously not cast boolit friendly.

I pored my first boolits last night sized em today. Made up a few dummy rounds to check what size and OAL combo would work in my M&P Pro. I think the casting gods where smiling on this noob cause...

I'd tumble em to apply, kinda like a candy maker but with a cheapish cement mixer with some type of heater to start to cure the coating (maybe a propane infrared heater).

Maybe you were thinking of the Ballisti-cast Mark IV?

Thanks Springfield that pretty much sums it up. I was thinking about getting the air feed for the lube but I'll wait on that, cranking the screw every 20ish isn't bad for now.

I'm considering buying a new magma star lubrisizer with no options and getting the dies and the L-handle from Lathesmith. How often would you need to adjust the pressure screw when lubing a single...

Good vibratory tumblers are faster cause of the force involved, media to part. From memory here is how it breaks down in g-forces:
barrel tumblers, 1g
vibratory tumblers, 4g
centrifugal...

I've spent a bit of time in tool and die in a stamping shop years ago but all I really did in tool and die was the wire edm burns on the die plates, no real design or anything like that. All the...

Can someone show me an example of a double action press that you would use for a blanking and cupping die? Page 9 of Ammunition Making mentions this type of a press and I've never seen one.

The press is the Hollywood Senior press. If you want to use RCBS type dies both vegatool and c&h make adapters. I've seen Senior presses go on ebay for ~$180-200 without the priming rams. The die...
Vickermans had an inline seating die back to the early to mid 50's.
