This has my interest as well. I just bought a hunter in 450 Bushmaster myself.

The WEAVER #82 scope base does stink with only 2 slots. I fixed that on several of them by taking a file and made another slot.

I could never get that get boolit to shoot in three different rifles. Slow to fast.

I use 10gr. of Red Dot with a 405gr boolit. Pretty accurate and still sub sonic.

Great post. I use the same boolit with 5.7gr of Red dot in a H&R model 157 and usually can get 3 touching at 25yds
