I use the paper shim as well on a Beaumont. One piece of construction paper under the rear leave when all the way down indexes the shot at 100m. Lucky the Windage is spot on.

It should be general season for Antifa tags near Portland.

There are enough sniders around. Wait for a good bore. Go mark 3 if you can but it's not that important.
Next year is the Spencer Carbine's turn. I will have it ready by then.

The 2 shot target is my 50meter and the 4 hole target is my 100m 'group' I shot 2 and walked up to see where I was hitting and did another 2 shots. So at 100m range the 2 close...

Got a deer this year with another Antique. This time a JC Lord Snider Carbine. Last year was a Martini, year prior was a beaumont. This particular Snider has a mint barrel. I had to file fit a...

I always wondered why you Americans hunted squirrels. Now I know. They are huge compared to the ones up here.

I'll be heading in again when it's cold. That usually shakes out the majority of hunters. My wife has a cow elk draw in a different zone so I'm spread out a little thin. At least I got my Ram this...

I found ten hunters in 3 camps. 2 guys in there 50's in tight shorts on Ebikes and 2 elderly ladies with little dogs that didn't like horses. So much for hunting.

This weather is a little too nice. Now the winds started at about 3am so I was just hunting where the elk were. Horses are enjoying their break though

That's the point. Pics. Probably won't get one as it's a 6 point zone but pics are good, to be outside as well is a blessing. Weather is great. Heard some calls after last light.

Out in the bush looking for elk. I'm surprised hat I have service. Just sitting and waiting to see where they are going to poke out so I'm not going blind in the morning.
The things are taking over in the NWT. The number of tags is going up. The quality is terrific. I got a 124 6/8" one a number of yrs back. In Canada they lifted the hunting ban in 1970. It was in...

I have a drop in cf block installed and new mag tube.
Thanks for the info regarding the starline. I think I will go with the 50-70. The bullet will be an issue I suspect as it should be heeled.

Has anyone have first hand experience of using shortened 50-70 brass in a 56-56? Does one have to outside turn the base or anything like that? I'm aware that the inside should be reamed. I'm trying...

I did notice that the bore seems to be getting smoother after each time I get out. I will try the same loads again but I'm thinking I should be adding a thin cork or something under the bullet as...

So I shot off my first 10rnds with 3f and the fouling was so bad the paper was getting damaged when chambering. The group was about 2' across at 50m. When I cleaned the bore I found that the whole...
