You will need metal .055" thick. What works well is the metal lumber "hangers" you might use in building a porch, deck, etc. Go to the lumber store and spend about 1.79 and you will have enough...

Can the base of the PP boolit project past the neck and into the powder space or is that going to be trouble like most cast applications? I am new to this PP business .....:confused:

Had a Turk 98 with a "sewer pipe" bore, not even a stainless bore brush changed the condition. Used LBT's method and bore cleaned up to smooth and shiney. It was bad and shot probably 80 lapping...

My lee drops at .325 with WW.

It is super easy to enlarge those dies to .325 or .326 or whatever. You will find yourself with a bunch of them in all sorts of custom sizes.:coffee:

My go-to load for my 308 M70 factory target rifle(post64) is that 19 gr load of IMR 4227 with a LBT or RCBS 180. I have never found a better load for that gun. Never tried to shoot it any faster,...

LBT has a set of rolling plates for rolling the grit into lead pills, they can then be seated by hand into the case with a very small charge--just enough to get it out of the bore. I have done this...

O3A3 for the best "user friendly sights"--read easily adjustable windage. No doubt about the Swiss' ability though.

What was your load?

I have a type 99 like you mention in pretty good shape, mine is a bit large in the bore, but is a great shooter. Value at 250-350 for top, unground mum shape with all the extras.

You can make 'em out of "lumber hanger" hardware that you will find at Home Depot, Lowes, etc. The stuff you use to hang and nail 2x4's, 2x6's, yada,yada. You will find it is .055", the same...

Newbie PP question-- I am assuming pure soft lead is OK for casting the boolit that will be patched or does it need to be harder? I would think that soft lead would be a positive in some cases,...

How did that work in a 8x57? Did they chamber with that nose?
