He said in an earlier post that if he holds the hammer back to where the half cock notch should be that the cylinder spins for loading and unloading.
So that part would seem to be working.

This place has several varieties, maybe look at the pictures and compare to your hammer when you get it out to order...
My guess is the half cock notch on the Hammer is broken off.
If the sear was broken, then you would have problems at all of the cocking positions.
The hammer has a very small notch that the sear...

You will never loose that one if you lean it up against a tree in the woods.
I'm a big Mauser fan and have a pile of them. I used to have a bucket of just actions waiting for future projects, but...

I think I would be unhappy also if my rifle shot 15" groups at 50yds.
I bought a Rem 600 in .308 once upon a time. I could not get it to shoot anything close to a group at 25 yards. I checked to...

Back in the mid 90s I had an FFL for selling guns, and also one for manufacturing ammunition. The ammunition manufacturing license also covered making components. The ATF wanted monthly reports of...

They call me Captain Oblivious, lol
I see the Dog and Hog now.
That is some seriously thick brush.
A couple of years ago, one of the guys on our deer lease had a friend with some Hog Dogs come...

I've shot a few Hogs with my 480Bisley with a 365gn Cast HP moving around 1350fps(if my memory is working today)... My alloy was a 50-50 mix of COWW-Pure lead, air cooled. The HP expanded nicely,...
Back in the early 90s I got a Class 1 and 3 FFL?, Dealer and Ammo Manufacturer.
Anyway, a Friend and I thought we would load ammo for sale. We ordered piles of supplies with the FFL discount......
The wife and I have been together for over 30 years and have never had a single fight.
Sometimes we have disagreements that we can discuss.
Sometimes we have to agree to disagree.

Just hope that there aren't any blackberry patches...
Some of the areas that I hunt in Southern Arkansas look alot like that.

I am not familiar with that model of shotgun. I have other Turkish made firearms and they seem well constructed to me.
I don't know how strong the action is, but it would probably be best to try...

found it, but all the juicy details are gone :(
I looked through my favorite places and found CoyoteCap.com
It's been down for many years.
I don't remember the web archive website. I see it come up in some threads talking about old stuff....
For a crimp, I remember an article on Paradox guns and they used a 3 point stab crimp to hold the slug in place.
I have an import 1887 12ga lever shotgun that I have been toying with making it into a slug gun.

The 12gaFH was birthed on the Big Bore section of the AccurateReloading forums. Some major contributors were Rob The Gun Builder and Ed Hubbel. I believe that Ed has passed on, but has published a...

If I can, I like to go for the base of the ear on a side shot. = NO tracking!
Looking forward to photos of your adventure.
Put all of the above into Quickload and it gave:
8.0 grains 787fps @ 29.4kpsi 96% load density
8.4 grains 835fps @ 34kpsi 101% load density
If you post your bullet length, loaded length and barrel length, we can plug it into Quickload for a guestimate.

I tried just running a 308 case through a 6.5 Creedmore sizing die and it would not chamber. The shoulder needed to be bumped back just slightly. I took an extra shell holder and ground the top down...

What would it take to convert it to 45Colt? Could the chamber just be lengthened and install a different extractor?
Forum: Single Shot Guns
If you were to load it light, I would be leery of using your jacketed 45acp bullets. You wouldn't want to stick a bullet in the barrel. You should be fine with cast bullets instead.
