I have a semi auto 243 and an M1A. I have 7.62X51 NATO brass. I was thinking that resizing some of that to 243 might give me a good and durable case for 243. Any thoughts about that?

Actually I meant an M1A, the new issue Springfield variety in 308. The "loaded" package, with whatever sort of chamber they put in that.
I was looking at the data for the 311407 because the...

Think this will be a good boolit in an M1A?
What about using load data for the 311407 in Lyman #3?

I don't have a bolt action, so no bad habits to break! I'll take a gander at it, thanks for the idea.

Ok, well I have two st00pid questions.
1. How do you measure the shoulder? Just from the base to the point where it begins?
2. How do you measure headspace? I've never understood this. Mine...

I've read the sticky about Bruce's cast loads in the m1a. Will look for the other.
I have been planning on using this h4895 I picked up. Do you think that works as well? I got it because it seems...

I do like longer case life! Do they last that long with full power loads as well or just lower cast loads?
Are there disadvantages to the x die? I read that they are much harder to work the lever...

I'll be using cci #34 primers. Any other tips are welcome.

I'm very happy to report that I have acquired a new Springfield M1A. I can't wait to disregard the user's manual and start loading for it. I will probably start with some jacketed loads.
I have...

Please take me off of the list as well. #38.
Ok. Thanks. Will do. I was hoping a simple swap out might handle it.
I always try to separate politics from business, but when your product is a political issue I suppose that is impossible.
Why would they move? To make a political statement? Would that statement...
Thanks! If I ever get out his way, one of my uncle's is good with revolvers and I have been planning on letting him look at it.
Is it cheaper to send it to the factory?
Is there any reason...
I have a S&W 65-2 357. If you cock the hammer back you can push it forward with your thumb fairly easy and it will fall. I assume it would discharge if loaded. What is the problem and how do I fix it?

As much as anything, avoid bulk ammo, it doesn't perform well. Minimags are great and more available than velocitors. I have been trying to get those for a year and a half.

32 caliber. Missing out on the 32-40 market just wouldn't be logical.
Should work on 32 winchester special and the 8mm also.

My cousin shot one a while back with a rifle and some hollow points, don't know which weight. About 70 pounds and 70 yards. Drt. Massive wound.

It's 50/50. The rest is rounding error. Rounding of the ball, that is. Lol. Consider your math whizzed.

I would carry the receipt from rotometals that documents the purchase of a lead free alloy.

The Lyman #2 is also available at Cornell. I ordered the #3 from them a couple days ago. I found it on a Google search and also found this thread. Once I saw the data in the scan above I decided I...

I have a lot more to learn before I think I will try that. I am more of a small time reloader. I try to keep it simple.

Yep, no H4895. No anything else I was looking for either.

There seems to be a number of powders that would get it to 2100 and stay under 40k. Would a good place to start be to get some H4895 and work up to a mid range load?
I already have some Imr 4350,...
