I think the new Lyman manual has loads like you are looking for in the 460, and .454, and I do think that Unique is one of the powders they use.

I was in a gun shop a week, or so ago, and liked the looks of a Marlin 45-70 guide gun they had there. As I walked around the store it seemed that just about everyone was picking up the Marlin, and...
A few years ago I heard that some Ruger 45 ACP cylinders got out of the plant that were cut too deep. I would send it in to Ruger, and get that checked. Call ahead, and they will probably send you a...
There is a GP-100 in .327 Federal for sale locally at a very good price. How do you like the guns. Sorry for the hijack. :( The only ammo (no brass to be found) I had seen was very expensive I...

I load the RCBS 35-200 FN in my .35 Remington Marlin. With a max load of AA-2015 it groups very well indeed, and to the same point of impact as the Hornady 200 RN with the same load. It is my go to...

QuickLoad doesn't list a 180 grain cast boolit, but the velocity out of a carbine with a jacketed bullet of that weight is about 1425 fps. I've never tried it, and don't know if it makes sense to,...

I am now at 3 .357 rifles, and counting. I have a Marlin, a Winchester, and a Ruger bolt gun. All of them are lots of fun to work with, and shoot, each in it's own way, and all are more capable than...

Those results are excellent for a first try with a lever gun. It is this kind of target that keeps us going, and motivates us. Good shooting.

Shooting, especially with cast bullets is lots of fun, and a very learning experience. I've been casting, and shooting for about 50 years now, and it has been both fun, and interesting to see the...
:D :D Ya know Dale, you would think that Ruger would eventually just put a sight on these single actions that is the right height before they blue the gun. I've sent 3 back this past year for higher...

The rifle is functioning quite smoothly now. I took some of the pressure off the magazine retaining spring, and worked on getting the magazine to install, and remove smoothly, smoothed up the trigger,...

All my .357 rifles ( a Marlin 1894C, a Winchester 94 Legacy, and a Ruger 77/357) shoot the Lyman 357156 boolit very well, and I load it hot over H-110 for game stomping loads. The other boolit I...

You might also give Ruger a call, and tell them that you have one barrel that leads more than other Ruger barrels you have, and that you suspect a rough bore. Most, if not all of Ruger's round...

I got a used Ruger 77/44 a while ago, and it hasn't been working too well so far, but had that glimer of promise that you wonder is the light at the end of the tunnel, or the train light coming.. I...

Hmm,
I've read this whole thread thinking that the FR-8 was the converted Spanish M93 actioned .308 Winchester like one I had years ago. What did I have? It fit the physical description you are...
Those combos are working well in my newer Ruger FT, and I have been seeing quite a bit of promise with Red Dot. Good luck with yours Ben! I've also played just a bit with Dave Scovill's 2400 loads,...

Rebarreling a MKIII is one of the more tough rebarreling jobs. The barrel is threaded to the receiver, and there is much machining to do after the barrel is timed like milling the feed ramp, etc....
While it is easier to get the larger calibers to shoot well with cast bullets, don't overlook the smaller calibers. I've worked with the .223 Rem., the .257 Roberts along with various .30, and .35...

They are making some No.1A's in 30-30 right now, but don't know how long that will last since it is a distributor special right now.
Edit: Oops, looks like those are gone, but they are making some...

I agree, it is my go to boolit for full house hunting loads, and shoots very well indeed out of my Marlin over a max (Lyman 49 manual) load of AA-2015

Since the 9mm is such a small case, seating bullets deeper can raise pressures to dangerous levels. In the .308 the dirrerence is less dramatic, but having the boolit below the neck is to be avoided...

I owned one Browning A bolt, but for some reason I just could never really warm up to it. It shot OK, and worked OK ( it was an early 25 WSSM so it didn't feed perfectly) but I didn't have it too...

Rear locking hasn't been a problem with any one of them I have loaded for. Surprisingly though, the Ruger rotary magazine guns have no primary extraction cam as do most bolt actions so if a case...
