N-330 has worked well for me in 45acp, 44spl, & 45 colt. It's a bit faster then N-340. Don't see why it wouldn't work well for mid range CB .41 loads.

Looking for a flat / non-molded .475 (or close) top punch for RCBS or Lyman sizer. I've got a flat #344, but too small for my usage w/ 477-640HP.
I'd really like a flat for versatility. In other...

Thanks for your response - especially the throat, & groove measurements. That's just the type of input I'm looking for. Is your Vaquero a NM - built on the .357 medium frame?
Oh and yeah, point...

Recently acquired a medium frame NM .45 Flattop, from a good friend. I've been a S&W N frame CB shooter for years, but this is actually my first SA. From what I can tell, it's pretty well...

What is the OD of the 45 Cowboy expander? Just curious.
I use new style Dillon .45 Colt dies for my 550B, but expand in a separate step, w/ a "stepped" Lyman M (.449") die. It's an extra step - as...
4.5 grns Titegroup under a Dardas 200LSWC-BB, groups well in either my Colt Gov't (Kart NM), or my factory barreled LWT Commander.
WW brass, WWLP primers, Lyman S expander, & a .470" Dillon taper...
Interesting. Having recently acquired the 625-8 in question here, & this being the first S&W revolver I have loaded for in this particular chambering, most of the loads tried to date have been what...

Thanks for sharing your observations. The hard alloy vs soft alloy is a hot topic for sure. Most of the 45 cal bullets (45 colt & acp) that I shoot, are in the 10 - 12 BHN range. If you are...

I have recently acquired a S&W 625-8 / 4" full underlug BBL / 45acp. Frame lock aside, a pretty nice revolver. Cylinder throats are a consistent .452". B/C gap is 0.005", cylinder / bore...

Now that's a thought. Seems like it in time, it might put extra wear & tear on the equipment though.
I'll give it a try & see if it helps.
Thanks - Gary

Wanted to 1st say, that I hope you & your family had a great Thanksgiving - and have a wonderful Christmas in the month to come. It can be tough at times I'm sure, but from my veiwpoint at least, you...

Bought this LAS2 used, a few years ago from a forum member. I'm sizing 265 Keith boolits from a Ballisticast mould, using a new RCBS .452" sizing die set, & LBT soft blue lube.
The problem is,...

W/ an older No.1-S in 45-70, I had pretty good luck using Cast Performance 405's.
Not sure about the short throat / requires short or deep seated bullet thing. This bullet was seated to the crimp...

I recently sold a No.1-S in 45/70, that shot cast bullets great. I never fired any RD bullets in that rifle, but would guess that depending on sizing, alloy, & powder selection, you will be a happy...

Surprised to find anyone else using N-330. I like it a lot, but it appears hard to find. I got lucky, & found a 4lb jug a while back.
I use it as my favorite, in a 4" S&W624. N-330 ...

Not sure about bullet lube potential.
However, blended w/ Mobil 1 full synthetic oil in small batches - to the consistency of your choice, it makes a great gun lube for areas where plain oil...

Eagle Original Wadding Polish, from Wally World. Works better then it has a right to.
Just don't use it on blued steel.

1+ for the chore boy. I wrap a patch of it around a nylon brush - enough for a snug fit, & give it a few dry trips back / forth in the bore.
Follow up w/ a swab of solvent, & a couple passes w/ a...

+1 My findings as well - & ditto for the lube. I think the key to standard velocity big bore revolver, is bullet sizing (to cylinder throat), soft alloy, & quality "soft" lube.
