I'm very fond of the single six. Small, light and packs a good punch. The full size Blackhawk Buckeye convertibles are pretty heavy and an awful lot of sixgun for such a little cartridge.

Have to disagree with the above. If too small you can ream the throats to proper size, if too big you are SOL.

A few ccw instructors have given me flack for shooting revolvers but generally shut their trap after seeing my scores.

You have to be careful buying lead from sailboat keels. Can be absolutely anything as a lot of manufacturers used scrap from whatever place was local to them. Some keels are also poured in multiple...

Neat bows! I have a left handed Bear target bow called a Polar that has the same sort of sliding sight. Took it off the day I got it and hadn't thought about it until now.

An old High Standard Sentinel has been my trap line gun since I was 12. My dad traded somebody for it around that time. Generally use shorts.

My dad had one, treated it like a 50-70. 450gr bullets at 1200fps. If you load it up those rifles can become unpleasant quickly.

I was doing survey work up in the White Mountains of New Hampshire and had a first gen LCP in my back pocket. While crossing a swollen stream (May) I fell and was swept about 30 yards downhill...

I love all the various Wirehaired pointers and have hunted over many. All are friendly companionable dogs and most are birdy as can be. A Wirehaired Pointing Griffon is sitting next to me in the...

While the current boats are very impressive and technologically interesting I wish they would go back to a non foiling monohull. I really liked the 12 meters not only for the taking duels but...

Very cool! May I ask how much it weighs?

I'd buy it in a heartbeat. Only shot 3 deer with my 38WCF 92 so far. Spined one and double lunged the other two. They didn't go far. I like the RCBS cowboy bullet as it has a decent size meplat...

Handloader magazine ran an article about loading the 300 Savage a couple of years ago, a bit of digging may turn it up.

The above advice on peening the threads is the best approach. I had a takedown 99 with 22 Highpower, 32-40, and 30-30 barrels. Had to do it to the 32-40 and 30-30 barrels. Take your time and...

My wife shoots the 358429 in an older Rossi 92. It will not feed if you use the crimp groove with Mag brass but works fine in 38 Special brass. If you look at Accurate molds there are many good...

I have a MVA sight on my Marlin 1895CB. I pretty much just use that rifle for smacking steel way out yonder and that sight is ideal for it. Not the handiest setup in the woods but would be fine...

One of my earliest memories is hanging on my grandfather's press handle trying to full length size a case. In retrospect it must have been a 270, only bottle neck he loaded for. ...
Thank you all very much. I'll check out Hodgdon's and the 16 ga forum. While I am very comfortable extrapolating data for metallic cartridges (I have messed with plenty of obsolete, obscure and...
I have an old Belgian Browning A5 with the sliding trigger guard safety (like a Garand) that is a short chambered 16 ga. I swapped in new springs when i got and have been shooting it with ammo from...
