Not really, boiling point of lead is much higher than that.

a quick fix for your sore hand, till you do a roller handle, is just cut the end off an old sweat sock and put it over the handle.

I use the Lyman solution for ultrasonic cleaners, it works real well on my semi-auto parts, though I always clean the barrel with traditional methods first.

I think it would work just fine, I don't see any inherent danger in it, I'll bet RCBS designed it that because it was the simplest, cheapest way to do it.
