My match load is 83 gr Swiss 1.5 under a paper patch bullet. Slow poured through a 30" drop tube leaves enough room to seat a .060 ldpe wad then compress .080.
Fits easy and shoots well!

I'll be curious to see if it shows anytime soon as well!

The link didn't copy correctly. Just search Optics Planet for Norma .45 cylindrical for the 2.88" brass and Norma 45-120 for the longer.

Optics Planet just added Norma brass to the website, first time I've seen it available for several years. Just passing along for those needing excellent brass for your .45 2 7/8 and .45 3 1/4.

I too have used the tubing cutter but it can be a pain, rolls in the mouth quite a bit, easy to slip and cut a little too short. If I had a bunch to do over again I'd look at a cheap harber freight...

Do yourself a favor and get the Flameking refillable bottles. They are reasonable to buy. You can get the kit that comes with a stand for the 20 bottle and a fill valve with a Deadman switch. I have...

As has been said you really need to make a chamber cast to determine what you have. Texas mac (Wayne Mclearen) has a good tutorial on the method if your not familiar with the process. Kurt could...
If you don't have a lube die you can certainly pan lube, or you could get some powder for coating from Smoke4320 and coat.

When i started magnum primers were recomended. Through experimentation it didn't take long to see they just aren't needed. My match loads today either use CCI BR2 or Fed 150p Match. Different loads...

When I am hunting I use one of the elastic shell carriers designed to slip over the buttstock but will wear it on my left forearm, I'm right handed. Makes it easy to reach for a quick follow up...

Reloader 7 is a very good powder for duplexing black. Stick with 10% smokeless to black.

I have had this happen on several occasions. Once while shooting in a light rain and other times while wiping with wet patches. All were due to a wet chamber.

I shoot a lot of BPCR and love to plink with my 1886 too. Pushing a 45-70 fast to flatten the trajectory is folly. Unless hunting large dangerous game a faster 45-70 will only make a larger hole in...

While my experience with Pedersoli rifles is little, the large long freebore you likely have might make a conventional bore diameter paper patch bullet difficult to work with consistently. A groove...
For the very modest price and the needs you stated Konus scopes are quite good. I have the 80mm version.

A couple of things I would check also, length of brass relative to chamber length, also I find when dealing with a chamber with freebore to seat my bullets so the bottom of a grease groove is even...
