I contacted Dillion when I started loading for my 300 BO and they told me to use the AK funnel. Works like a charm and just like loading a pistol round, smooth.

I would have to agree with #1, if your shooting the old Colt, why not have it shoot accurately. Get the cylinder throats reamed to .4545 and watch how the accuracy improves. I did this with a Old...
Just picked up a Like new used 4" Redhawk in .45 colt @ $500. It shots my Kieth load of 18.5/2400 great but even loves the Lee 310 GC bullet over 23 gr of H110 better.
I have no desire to shot...
Absolute favoite is a 158 big flat point over 7.5 grains of Unique in mag cases, for all around use, closely followed by the 358429 over 12.5 of 2400 in .38 cases.
A Smith 19 in good shape...
My favorite .44 mag hunting bullet is a 300 FP over 21.5 of H110 followed closely by a 250 Keith under 20 gr 2400. Have never recovered either, no matter what the angle.
I use both.
In my Smiths I use a steady diet of Keith over 8.5 gr of unique. Great load
In my Rugers and Rossi its a Keith over 18.5 of 2400 or Lee 310 FP/GC over 21.5 of H110. Both are good...

My 4 5/8" blackhawk was also .451 barrel and cylinder throats. Got moderate accuracy with 6.0 gr Red Dot and 250 Keith. Sent the cylinder off to the Cylindersmith and had him ream it to .4525 as I...
I'll start bu saying I am a die hard Smith Nut and my Smith to Ruger is at least 3:1
That being said I have a .44 5 1/2" Redhawk that is a death dealing hammer. With a 300 Gr LBT & 21.5 gr H110,...

7.0 grains of Unique under the 200gr WC custom buy we did a ways back it a wonderfully accurate, mild target load out of both of my Smiths and Ruger Blackhawk. I use 7.5 Under my Keith 220 Grain...

Felt the same way, got out and smelted 240 lbs of range lead into 6 lb ingots.
Now only 8 1/2 5 gal buckets to go.
My SA loaded has never had a failure to feed or eject since I bought it. It feeds everything, SWC, RN, even a custom Keith type 200 gr. bullet. Best one I have ever owned.
Out of the six .44 specials I own, 3 of them are 3"
A charter arms bulldog and my set of twin Smith 696's.
Great little gun if you can find one without paying an arm and leg for one.
Had...

Thanks, I don't throw old primers away either, got a 6 gallon bucket full, just sitting in the garage, mainly cause the durn thing is to heavy to move.:-D

The indoor backstop has about 3 sheets of heavy conveyor belt rubber backed by a steel plate angled down into a sand pit. There was about a 6" thick by 3' X 15' slab that they had to break up on top,...

I got a call from the president of my gun club the other day asking if I would be interested in some range lead. They were cleaning up the pistol range. Told him sure and I would pick it up today...
I keep my 2" 38's loaded with 148 gr HBWC loaded upside down over 4.0 grains of bullseye. Pretty intimidating hollow point for sure and doesn't give me very good accuracy past 20 yards, but these...
I love the old special. Most of mine gets the old skeeter load of 7.5 Unique under a Keith Bullet or 16.5 of 2400 under a 245 gr Ray Thompson gas checked bullet.
Here are a few of my favorites

I bought my first Dan Wesson 15-2 back in 1980, used it to shoot PPC with a 6 inch heavy vent barrel and a 2 inch for a carry gun when I was a constable, for several years before selling it to my...
I use 8.0 of unique with a 220 gr Keith bullet for my plinkin loads, easy on me, easy on the gun, accurate.

Out of habit I store mine in a couple of large water tight sports boxes I got from Gander Mtn. on sale for $5 each.
I have a pretty humid basement in my 100 yr old farm house and have had no...
I just picked up a like new Smith 18-3 4", locally for $350.
My nine year old grandson loves it and shots it durn near better than I do.
I love my twin 696-no dash's and they would be some of the last to go.
Favorite loads:
250 Keith with 7.5 grains of Unique
200 Round Flat Cast with 7.0 grains of unique
Favorite carry load ...
