Thanks for the clarification. I guess I lucked out, my projectiles are .250" diameter at the same point they are .250" long. These still seem way short, not sure it's safe to load them like this.

Good bit of advice, I'll try to manually cycle a round and see what happens. Hoping to figure out what the heck I'm doing wrong soon, would love to start loading some rounds up for testing. If anyone...

I do have a metal mag without the shoulders. I will try it out and see what happens. I was using it at first best for some binding issues, and the projectiles ended up at and angle after extraction. ...

@Popper thanks for the advice, I made up quite a number on blanks ranging from 2.175 all the way down to 2.135 and stopping in increments of .005 (for instance 2.175, 2.170, 2.165, etc). Still ran...

Awesome, I'll try and make some blanks up in the morning and test it out! Will get some pictures and make sure to post them and the results.

I'll try the good ol drop test and see what happens. I'll also load some shorter that 2.195 OAL, and see what happens. Definitely a lot of trouble shooting happening for this round, but it's a good...

Got my new mould in at the end of last week, spent some time in the southern heat to cast some projectiles to load up some testers this weekend. After a few struggles with my PC, I was able to get a...

I'll be loading up subsonic starting around 8.5 grains of 1680. Will work my way up/down till I find something accurate for plinking.

I went ahead an ordered the NOE 311-230-FN BLKOUT mold during the 20% off sale. Got it in the mail yesterday and was able to cast up some testers. By visual comparison it looks like the 230s will...

I've saved up enough to afford a nice NOE mold for my new 300blk AR. When I was in the middle of the build process I did purchase some test projectiles from various members here and a local gun...

Cool idea! Currently trying to figure out a good way to coat my 311-230-fn projectiles for my 300blk. Might have to give this a try. Does the pc stick to the mesh at all?
Forum: CB Loads / Military Rifles
Good advice. I'm mostly converting 5.56 brass and am measuring the wall thickness to make sure they are not too thick. So far I've found about a 100 or so that are too thick out of the couple...

I usually cast 1,000 projectiles whenever I turn my pot on. I used it for 3+ hours before with no issues. The Lee 4-20s always tend to drip, but doesn't seem like there is a way around that.

Thanks for the link. I haven't looked at the NOE site much, but was unaware they made these parts. I might have to order one from them, just to have. So far, having not used a lyman M die, the Lee...

@Drew P Thats a really cool idea! Are you just tumble coating them or espc? Then standing them up in between the pyramids, or are you setting the projectiles in the pyramid shaped holes on the...

Can you link me to the bushing dies you are referring to? The Lee die was fairly cheap so not a game breaker if it doesn't pan out, and I can always return it to amazon. I checked out some of the...
