Dogs that chase cattle for fun are shot on sight without a qualm. I love my bird dogs dearly but they know dang well to leave the cows alone!

Being a grandpa sounds like a blast! I hope to just remain a dad for at least a few more years though.....

I'm guessing at those distances even a velocity loss of 200-300 fps wouldn't account for a miss. I would look elsewhere for your issues....

You only take "perfect" shots and that what you consider a straight frontal shot on a deer? I would take that shot all day long if it was a finishing shot but not as the first "perfect" shot....

Outstanding story sir. I admire the way you think about life and live it!

Damn good job. I hope I can still get out of bed when I'm 75!

I appreciate the info. That's exactly the kind of load I'm looking for in the short gun.

All of mine are field grades. I can't imagine how nice a premier grade must be! I think I will make some nice pecan or mesquite grips to liven them up a little.

I did consider a 45lc cylinder and I might actually buy one if I thought I could sell my 454 cylinder. I suspect all the short gun will ever see is a 250-260gr at 1100-1200 but I can do that with the...

I have been debating on what red dot to put on one of the 7.5" guns. I'll check into the aimpoint micro.

That is some GOOD shooting sir. Which mold are you using and what is your velocity?

Yes sir, I am. After I won the bid on this last one, I sold my gp100 44spl that I never even fired to help fund it. Once you have a FA in your hands, you can really appreciate the craftsmanship. I...

My wife always accuses me of being "obsessive compulsive" and I guess I am. I have ended up with 3 freedom arms 83's in 454 and I'm not exactly sure how I will set them up. Two of them are 7 1/2"...

Don't know about pythons but they dang sure eat rattlesnakes!

Very nice. It's unbelievable how tough they can be. I had a similar incident with a muley and a Marlin 444 several years ago shooting a 335gr cast at 2200fps. I don't recall how many times the buck...

I find it amazing that the bullet could be stopped by anything but an elephant or a lengthwise shot on a buffalo.

Yeah, a .338 edge with a 300gr at 2900fps and no brake is BRUTAL. i can't imagine 2500gr at any velocity!

You are the "unintended consequences" John Ross? That book is absolutely my favorite of all time!!!!

Glad your wife is well and the freezer is full. Time to "lay up" for the winter!

I think this will be my next mold for 9mm and 38 plinkers.

At distances you are taking about, I would definitely want all the velocity that I could get with acceptable accuracy....
Having a good cast load that would reliably run through an AR would be a great thing to have access to even if you didn't use it regularly!
That's encouraging accuracy. Do you find you can match a good 22lr for accuracy with these kinds of loads?
