get a recoil reducer put into stock then a good recoil pad,maybe a heavier gun those 3 should tame most recoil.

the savage is a very good gun for the price everyone that i have shot has been very accurate.

Win 231 meters good shoots good and burns pretty clean i use it in 9mm-.38slp-.357-.45acp

i love w231 use it alot .but as said before get the books do it right it only takes 1 bad one to cause a bad day.

Springs matched to what you shoot will help your gun in the long run what may seem fine now may hurt it later.
definatly keep an eye on the bearing surfaces heavy loads will beat a gun up.
