Didn't the original Sharps rifle shoot cast boolits out to 1000 yards? Distance is one thing, and accuracy is another. The ability to make symmetrical boolits is the key to accuracy. Boolit...

I don't know about the Freedom Arms Pistols, but the Taurus Raging Bull takes .454 boolits. The barrel slugs to .453.

CLEAN HOT lead and hot mold. About 730*F with my Lyman dial Thermometer.

Don't hold the mold level. Tilt it at about 3 degrees.
After both cavities are filled and the sprue is still liquid, rotate the mold so it is level, then tap the sprue plate tang with the wooden...

If a boolit obturates, why do they need to be over-sized?

I do not do it. I tried it once. I did not fill it all the way to the top. It was maybe 75-80% full. When I heated it up the next time. The pot started to drip, then it...

Interesting idea. I will have to try it sometime. I would think the paper would burn, but maybe it lasts long enough to cast one boolit. A slit tip would probably cause some out-of-balance situation...

Wheel weights and Lino?
Are you sure you don't have any contamination in the lead?
The Chinese put lead in their paint, so who knows what they put in their lead. Just because it is a lead...

Clean the mold with a brass wire brush. You won't hurt it. Most likely you got some lead chips on the V and they are offset. I had/have the same problem with my 410-210-TL mold. I sent it back, then...

But your TD is a single shot. You don't have to worry about recoil causing the boolit to move.
A friend of mine had some boolit pull out of the case and stop the cylinder from moving on his S&W...

You didn't mention what brand of dies you use. I see a Lee press turret block, and Lee crimp die, but the micrometer seat die doesn't look like a Lee die. I have noticed that my Hornady neck expander...

Lead won't be going down in value anytime soon. I just found a stash of cast boolits I bought in the late 80's. There are 500 148 grain wad cutters, and the price tag says $8.00. That is over 10-1/2...

If you use a Lee factory crimp die, you wont be firing .359 boolits in your gun, regardless of what size they are before you put them in the cases.
Can you give me the phone number to your pizzeria, and do you know if they will deliver to California.

Has anyone tried to leave part of the wad cutter protruding from the end of a (38) Special round so that it just barely engages the throats in the cylinder of a 357 mag. I was thinking about trying...

try using brass case lube instead of alox before sizing. There is a difference. That is if you use the Lee sizer. You can wash the case lube off in hot soap and water. then add alox.

I have mostly Hornady, but I also have some Lee Pistol dies.

I just got version 3.6. It does not have Trial Boss, 700x, 800x, American Select, and a few older powders.
I looked up some loads for 308 Win and 223 Rem and was puzzled how the data and chart...
I am pretty sure it was a Blackhawk. It is single action only. I did not know that single actions were exempt from the DOJ list, so when I looked on the list those stock numbers were the only ones...
