That one in the 490 gr version is my favorite, also feeds perfect in a Henry.

I have a trim to fit Limbsaver on it. It did help some, but not enough for a 6 lb. rifle with those kind of loads.

You might try here,https://web.archive.org/web/20060103022625/http://www.beartoothbullets.com/tech_notes/archive_tech_notes.htm/28 I've used a 340 gr ssk in my Timber Carbine and at 1900 fps it hurts...

Tom, at Accurate molds, told me this was the largest or most aggressive nose profile that would feed reliably in a Marlin https://www.accuratemolds.com/bullet_detail.php?bullet=46-405V. That profile...
Tom has the same nose profile in several different weights,up to 540 grains. I have one in a 490 gr. version. It's a really good thumper, and accurate too.

Sounds like we're comparing a properly loaded slug gun to 45-70 backyard beer can loads. I shoot a 470 gr. @ 1650 fps. from a Henry single shot and it's not near max. My son shoots the same boolit...
I think a 200 gr @ 1200 fps is the same as a Winchester 200 gr power point factory load for a 44-40 rifle, not my choice.

I had Tom at Accurate molds copy my ssk mold, adding more crimping grooves for both revolver and lever action rifle. The top groove is needed in a Winchester 444. He has it in plain base & gas...

Pull the butt stock off, cut down the OD of a 1/4 inch washer and put it under the hammer spring. That worked well for me.
All my Rugers out of the box had more than enough creep in the trigger. I would rather have a crisp heavier pull than a lighter one with creep. The 69 I got 3 years ago has the best trigger by far...
Compare retail prices between any Ruger from GP100 and up, you'll find most of the S&W's are less. And add in the trigger work a Ruger needs to get even close. Ask me how I know, I have several...

A lot of reading here, https://540ratblog.wordpress.com/ but it might change your mind on the subject of picking the right motor oil.
Maybe something like this, http://www.accuratemolds.com/bullet_detail.php?bullet=43-335G ,heat treated ww alloy.
I got these https://texasgrips.com/product/ruger-blackhawk-extended-xr3-red-mesquite/ and they fit the gun & my hand perfectly.
How do these look? https://texasgrips.com/product-category/pistol-grips/smith-wesson/sw-k-l-frame/sw-k-l-frame-round-butt/sw-k-l-frame-round-to-square-butt/ I have 3 sets of their grips & like them...
