What I'm thinking is if you use them as a base and then swage them down to whatever size you need using reducing dies. Annealing them should have been understood, sry. As far as expense I got 100 off...

Im cookin with gas. Still have some work to do but it's looking better. Increased the bottom forming post/punch to .600 and it semes to have done the trick.

The design was an attempt to kill two birds with 1 stone. The top punch cuts a disk from flat stock (1" X .030 thick) at the same time it forces the disk over the bottom punch forming the first cup....

Im thinking the same thing, do you think the taper is also too long, and maybe the angle(60°) too steep?

Something I have been thinking about as I make my dies is an eject rod from 3/32 tig welding tungsten rod. Has anyone tried this yet? What do the meplates look like after ejection?

I think the redding trimmer already has a collet that clamps onto the base of a cartridge, so I bet someone could engineer a similar collet that can hold a range of jackets. I may see if I can come...

I think im gong to give it a shot, just ordered 3 from Midway for $60. When they get in ill make a die for them and see how things go.
