Hello,
I'll take 250 of these. PM on it's way.
Thanks,

Good to see someone able to help here. I was in the same situation when I first started casting, eventually sorted things out, but a little help really went a long way.

No offense to osteodoc08, you seem like a generally helpful guy and all, but that was about the most useless, irrelevant post I've seen in awhile.
See how that works, we just put "no offense to...

Not to belabor the point, but the main issue I had is that I don't think the shellholder is within Hornady's specs either, and they weren't even willing to consider that possibility. As much as I...
Forum: Casting Equipment
You are probably right, but keep in mind this is a $7 shell holder. I did make a few measurements to see where it was off, but didn't get a conclusive result. The main thing I noticed was that all...

I've always heard good things about Hornady customer service, but until today never had any personal experience. I bought a set of their 450-400 Nitro Express dies, along with a Hornady shell holder...

Having recently acquired the same rifle, I would be interested to hear opinions/experiences on this as well. Looks like the mold specs out at .409 to .410, which could be slightly small for the...
Forum: Cast Boolits
Thanks. Lyman 49th 40-65 data shows 385gr w/ AA5744 starting at 18.0 (1135fps) to 21.0 (1274fps). Looks like I could probably reduce Western's 450/400 starting load of 48.0 for a 230gr quite a bit....
Forum: Cast Boolits
Thanks all for the information. Below is the load data from Western on AA5744. Any thoughts on reducing below their minimum? I have the 230gr LFN (both GC and PB) and would like to get down around...
Forum: Cast Boolits
Looks like I'll be getting an updated Hornady manual. Western did send AA5744 loads for a 230gr bullet, but starting at 2025fps which is a little faster than I was looking for.
Thanks again for...

Hello All,
I have an itch to buy a Ruger #1 in 450/400 Nitro 3", and have been having a hard time finding reloading data. Most of what I've found are loads with 400gr bullets at 2100+fps, a little...
Forum: Coatings and Alternatives
Thanks for the feedback. I may do exactly that. I've seen photos of other folks PC boolits with an almost perfectly uniform coating, so wasn't sure if the uncoated specks would be a problem.

Hello All,
I've been a member of this site for over 5 years, but not so active the last couple years as family, life, etc., seemed to take priority. Started getting back into shooting and casting...

Not the original poster, but thanks for the info. I also have the same mold and this looks like a good one.

Thanks from another repeat buyer for doing another round! The quality of the first light was way more than I hoped for, so adding another.

I noticed your statement about the batteries being not being fully charged as shipped, so put one in the charger last night. The light on the charger was on initially, but when I checked it an hour...

Here is one of my most memorable. I've probably killed between 30 and 50 over the years. This one was taken with an Uberti 1885 caliber 45-70. Hog nearly did a somersault at the impact and piled up...

Not I. Been watching the mailbox all week.

Sounds like just the ticket.
Paypal on the way for 1 light.
Thanks.

The local law enforcement doesn't have to sign - you just send them a copy for informational purposes.
I believe the firarms can only be shipped to the address on your C&R.

I have that mold and the only problem I've had with it is that it drops at .457. Once I beagled the mold to get to .459-.460 things went fine. I've fired it in an Uberti 1885 as well as a Marlin...

My Hornady manual (7th Ed.) doesn't list 375 Ruger, so maybe there is a newer version. Lyman 49th shows 2.580 max and 2.570 trim-to-length, if that helps.

Oooh, pretty stuff. Reading this thread just made me walk to the end of the street (in the rain) to see if mine was here. Now I'm wet and still waiting! Hopefully tomorrow or the next day, or at...
