I really like the MP 45-270 SAA in my Bisley Blackhawk, I also use it with a sabot in my muzzleloaer with Blackhorn. I'd really like to find a 45-270SAA with a gas check, because I was thinking of...

New Quickload 3.8 user and I have a question about defining barrel length for revolvers. QL has it defined as breechface to muzzle, which in the case of a revolver would include the cylinder length,...
I appreciate the responses, I have all the manuals and that data as well, however I just can't find anything for a lead 170g lead 357 with Titegroup. I'm really looking for someone who has loaded...
I’m having a hard time finding a mid-range (850 -1000 FPS) load for an MP359-640 Solid weighing 170g with Titegroup in a 357 case. I’ve looked through several manuals and cannot find any Titegroup...
I've got a set on my Bisley Blackhawk and GP100, beautiful work.
Take a look at Alta Mont grips at Altamontco.com. I have their grips on several guns and they are beautifull and very reasonable.

I have found the best cadence is to run two molds, at 725 degrees plus preheat. Here's the seqence from the very beginning
1. Pour 1st mold
2. Set down 1st mold
3. Pour 2nd mold
4. Set down 2nd...

Always smelt and flux in a different pot, so your casting pot will stay as clean as possible. I can usually go through a couple hundred pounds before I have to drain and clean out the spout because...

I use a Mihec 45-270 w/small round hollowpoint w/ MMP HTH 24 sabot and a 100g of Blackhorn out of my in-line. At 50 yards I'm 1/2" low, at 100 yards 3/4" high, pretty much point and shoot out to 130...

I believe the pronounced lip that you are referring to is what the cartridge is designed to head spaces off of, the end of the brass case is supposed to stop at the lip. If you try to load...

I use a lyman & thermocouple PID. Initially use lyman to calibrate PID, & just never pulled it out. I like having a backup.

I run a PID controlled pot, calibrated to a lyman thermometer. My standarard is 660 degrees for 93-3-4 alloy. I preheat my brass molds on a " low setting" hot plate to a mold temp of 325 degrees...

Cbrick & Dragon813gt,
Thanks for the response, that is exactly why I summarized all the different posts and was asking who does what and to get a conversation going about it.

I have several Mihec molds and started off just cleaning with hot water and dawn, and smoking them a little bit. I've been reading several of the posts about patina and lead removal and decided to...

Mold is either cold or your somehow got a lubricant in the cavity. You didn't put a touch of lube or bees wax on the sprew plate hinge or on the alignment pins in between pours did you?

I just started using Promo for 9mm, 357, 45acp & 45 Colt, seems a little smokey to me or is it just because I started with a med-low Red Dot load charge? Using Ben's Red as lube.

Take a look at the Group buy for a Mihec 454-308, it might be close to what your looking for, although it is a semi-Keith.

The teflon does gas out on the first pour, you'll hear it sizzle a little, pour slowly. You may get a small bubble or two on the first ingot, but it is only an ingot that is going to get melted down...

I have not had an ingot stick in the mold, that a light tap wouldn't knock out, in the last 2,000 lbs.
