Put in a bit of the lead backed sheetrock and it is pure lead
Forum: Boolit Lube !
Finally got to actually shoot my first cast boolits and I used this lube recipe and had good luck so far. Used on .357s in a 4" and 8" S&W and some .45-70s in a 34" sharps. Didn't have any leading...

The 91 has a return spring on the firing pin so little chance of slam fire might just have to try a different mold for it. I'll probably try it to see how it works.
Forum: CB Loads / Military Rifles
I'll start off saying I'm pretty new to casting and very new to rifles with cast bullets. Anyway I got a Lee .309 168 gr. Gas checked bullet mold (90301 on the side bought used) that I was thinking...

I haven't loaded cast in mine yet but every Cetme and 91 I've owned has liked 4895. Use a port buffer or shell deflector to help save the brass, even without it you should get 5 loads. I usually get...

One of the mildest NoDak winters I can remember, haven't even got below -20 yet. Last year we had a week where we didn't get above -20.
Forum: Boolit Lube !
Awesome I plan on working up some loads for my sharps. And it'll be worth a try either way xD
Forum: Boolit Lube !
I've read a fair amount of this thread but not all of it but does this concoction work well on rifle bullets? I'm thinking .45-70 at low to mid velocity and 30 cal at .30-30 velocity. I'm still kinda...

I concur, I always go for upper neck myself. My results have been either they drop dead, or I missed. no wounded deer getting away

I was 4 :( sucks to have missed the shooting portion of those years, but I guess I can't complain too much. Just wish I could find primers and powder now. Also wish My Smith wheelguns (revolvers are...
Yes I do believe Colt did make one. Also now Coonan makes theirs in not only .357 magnum again but also in .41 and .44 magnum versions. I don't think they cycle the special versions of any of the...
Well it's either a S&W Revolver, all have external hammers however they get shot double action most of the time minus my 8". When not carrying a revolver it's a HK P7 or 1911 both single action....
As has been said it's not so much the steel case that you have to worry about it's the Berdan primer. You can get Berdan primers on occasion, however I have also seen people remove the berdan priming...

That is a satisfactory answer, they are both quite good manufactuers, and both put out quality firearms, even if a few not so good ones slip through.

So what's the point of when Marlin started making lever actions? Winchester started in 1866 so it really is a weird point to bring up. Fact of the matter is they both make superb Lever guns. I'm...
I've found even with there XTP line that they are shorter brass than other. This is at least the case in .357 and .41, haven't bought them in .45 colt though. Hornady is kinda notorious for short...
If you really have a problem with it, you can send me all those pesky Revolvers for proper disposal.
I am in the young crowd of Revolver fans however

Yes, I am sure I am stepping in the right direction the FA-91 is definitely a step below the Hess. Hess is about the bottom of the barrel to start with.

The FA91 is about the worst of the whole bunch of clones of the DRB rifle, do not buy this cast aluminum receiver rifle. It may shoot ok now, but it will not last like either a PTR91 or a Cetme. To...

Both a port buffer and the shell deflector eliminate that dent, The buffer is easier to put on as it just clips on where as the original deflector is welded on.
I wouldn't completely take it...
