There’s no justification for your proposed Ruger #1 in 327 other than want.
Yes it’ll work and be a dandy and very fun gun. That’s all the justification you need for this hobby. Do...

Forum: Cast Boolits
Concerning chatter marks in the rifling grooves, that’s fairly common. Could certainly be contributing factor but, I own several pretty bad looking, chattered bores that shoot clean. So that is not...
Forum: Cast Boolits
There was a former member here with the handle “Beagle”. He solved situations like yours by using small slivers of aluminum duct tape applied to the mating face of one mold halve. The aluminum...
Forum: Cast Boolits
Shooting a boolit that is smaller than barrel groove diameter is the main ingredient for barrel leading.
You have to fit the boolits to the barrel for reciprocators. For revolvers you size the...
Mobilemail, shooting 32 acp in a 32 cal revolver is an option but not a good idea. It’s like going to the grocery store driving your car in reverse. You can do it. It’s an option. But it’s not a...
Finding 327 brass is easy. You find it on the front porch a couple days after you order it. Currently in stock at Graf’s and Powder Valley and probably lots more internet ordering houses. Even...
One more thought.
S&W 544.
It’s a 5” N-Frame, 6 shot in 44-40.
Oh I should mention on MIM, the GP100 is an MIM gun too.
Smith and Wesson 69 for the win! Why? Because it’s AVAILABLE! Life is short. Don’t waste it waiting. Spend it shooting! And, getting the S&W 69 now will not preclude you from getting the 5”...
I’m blessed with plenty of choices in pocket revolvers in 32 & 38.
Ruger LCR in 327 gets more time in my pocket than the rest. After dark it’s the S&W Ultimate Carry in 32 H&R bc I find that...
Yep. It’s an H&K stepped and fluted chamber.
I’m not seeing any carbon ring, which as BK7saum points out, occurs at the front of the chamber as the boolit exits the case mouth.
I do see 2 ...
Rumors are Lipsey’s is working on a 327 K-Frame for next year. A follow up to the 32 HR Ultimate Carry J-Frame. No idea of barrel length for the K-Frame though. Just a rumor but I’m hopeful it’ll...
Glasses.
Amen!
I’ve been blessed to have worn them since before first grade. Can’t tell you how many times I’ve heard a little “tick” hit my glasses. Machine shop, shooting, chemistry, carpentry,...
A few weeks ago I saw it on Starline’s site for about a half a day then it was gone.
Well you’ve got some good components. Like PettyPace, I’d be using Bullseye first.
For boolits, I’d load a few of each weight and see which ones shoot high, low or just right. I’d think 5...

Rapidrob, almost right.
Ruger DA 357’s use 1:18.75.
Ruger SA 357’s use 1:16.
Yep weird.
John Forrest, my opinion is thumb safeties are a personal thing like boxers or briefs.
I don’t want them on my polymer framed guns, but I’m fine with them on my 1903’s, 1911’s and Hi-Powers....
Look at it the other way. Is there anything that doesn’t work?
I quit using anything marketed as a “gun” lube back in the 1970’s. Any refined light oil will work. Animal oils get stinky but...
Collector’s Firearms in Houston is an incredibly well stocked, full retail gun store. The sign on the front of the store says “Best Damn Gun Shop in the World”. Sounds like brag (duh), but when...
Thom, BigSlug got most of it said in post 13. But do have a look at the first post on the sticky above called “Revolver Inspection the right way - aka -wheel gun 101”.
My opinion is you’re...
Tall,
Okkk…..
I remember bumping into you in another thread here somewhere and you had that Target SAA out for work.
Super cool gun.
DaveM,
Sorry for the thread drift.
Don’t leave out the Sig P226. It’s hi-cap, hammer-fired, DA/SA with a decocker. Well made. It’s a toss-up whether I like my Hi-Power or P226 the best. Both shoot cast very well.
Outpost75, thanks for the info!
Tall, hey your Colt SAA above has an odd front sight on it. Also looks like a dovetailed rear in the top strap.
Mind posting a better pic or two?
