If you don't mind spending the premium bucks take a look at the Pietta Shooter's Model. I think they are available at Dixie Gun...

My experience has been that Uberti cylinders take 454 balls to seat properly, 451 in my Uberti guns will move around and even fall out. 457 balls work fine if they are pure lead (soft) as when they...

I am not sure. Black-MZ is the only ffg that I have shot in my revolvers. No real reason why probably cuz I have always had enough fffg on hand. Next trip out to shoot I will bring ffg with me and...

mainiac, You are correct on 30 being the magic number in ROA at least most of the time. When shooting Olde E I also use 30 just don't compress as much. 777 I usually use 28 light compression, Pyrodex...

Rocket, thanks for the info. I am also still playing around with the Black-MZ in my revolvers lately in my ROA. I have a load that is working well for me. I measure 30gr powder tap it and top it off...

I use and shoot all that I can find/try in my revolvers and rifles. These are my observations of the subs that I currently use.
I have been shooting Alliant Black-MZ for the past couple of months...

Bob208, That has been my experience also. When I use a lube over ball the gun does not bind up and I can continue to reload and shoot my revolver for quite a while. It does get messy.
If I use a...

I ship and receive ML Rifles and Revolvers. Usually use USPS. As mentioned earlier just package em up and don't go into details with clerk. It is perfectly legal and inexpensive. If shipping...

I was at Sportsman's Warehouse (BassPro) over the weekend and they had both Remington and RWS caps on the shelves. Remington is $5.79 a tin, I don't recall what RWS was priced at but less than...

Beng, if you are not too confused or disgusted by all this, my advise is if possible get together with someone that shoots Cap and Ball Revolvers and try some of their guns. If no one is available...

I make/use a 50-50 mix of beeswax and lard. When weather turn cooler I thin out with Vegetable or Olive Oil. Works fine for me.

If you are not able to locate someone you could try calling a postmaster where you plan on going to see if you could have it delivered at "General Delivery". I am not sure if people can receive mail...

I shoot Black-MZ in my revolvers and really compress the snot out of it. Tight groups. Will try and borrow a chrono and let ya know how fast it flies.

Nipples are 6x1 mm. Good luck getting Traditions to help. When I had problems with their products they would not even bother to reply to me emails.

Nice, I am sure you are gonna get lots of use out of it. I just bought a new one also and am awaiting the arrival in the mail. Why I decided I needed another I just don't know. Addictive.

Thanks for the info. So far I like the stuff. I am still playing around with it. Not much fouling and cleans up easy only thing I dislike is the amount of smoke but compared to the holy black about...

OP was referring to a Rugar Old Army revolver. I also find that 25 to 30gr powder charges work best at 20 to 25 meters. And as you mentioned a lot less mess. When using subs 777 or Alliant I can...

Black-MZ compresses nicely. So far I like it but have only used in revolvers. I will try it out in my smoke poles when weather gets nicer and time allows.

I picked up a bottle of Alliant Black-MZ and really like the stuff so far. I have shot it mostly in my Ruger Old Army it has a lot of pep and cleans up easily. I started off using 18gr, 457 RB, 1/4...

I tried the Tesco nipples on my Pietta 1860 Colt and the accuracy changed dramatically. Gun started shooting low and to the left using 777, pyrodex and Alliant-mz 20 and 25 meters, CCI and RWS caps....

Gunny, if you decide you want to part with it let me know. Most of what I shoot is C&B revolver so I have a good home for it.

I load on the loading tool at home but after firing at the range I use the leaver on the gun. Just don't think about taking it with me. Maybe I will next trip when shooting a Remmy or ROA. Don't see...

I make/use 2 parts bees wax, 1 part lard, 1 part olive oil. In colder months decrease bees wax a bit. Heat up a bit in bottom of pie tin and soak wads.
