The #36 is a wonderful aperture sight. I have 2 on my Mannlichers. Tedly's price is probably more realistic but these sights don't come up for sale very often. Condition is everything on these...

This is an option for shooting single cartridges.

I made 3 loads of 10gr Unique and 160gr boolits and had a chance to test them on the range yesterday. Not a bad grouping with no evidence of keyholing. This will give me a good place to start playing...

Thanks for the ideas guys. I probably won't get around to doing some form of testing until after this years hunting season. Work is keeping me busy and the range is starting to get busier with deer...

How about carpet remnants cut into squares and placed in cardboard boxes. Maybe multiple boxes end to end would work?

I still need to consider what options are available. Although some options mentioned seem good, the difficulty would be moving it to and from the public range. I understand about the shortage of...

I can make some ballistic gel. I have no idea of how much penetration to expect. I will need to shoot at 25 yards in order to keep things near the back stop. Newspaper could be placed behind the gel.

Hi All
I have decided to ask members on Cast Boolits for ideas for how to try and recover hollow-point cast hunting boolits to check expansion. I have been working up nice hunting loads for my 9mm...
Thanks for your input guys. This will give me a good place to start with load development.
Ajohns, do you have an idea of velocity for that load?
Thanks Ajohns. I'll need to get down to the lead pot and get some more made. Right now, I'm working on a jacketed load because I want to take this old girl out into the PA woods for deer this year.
Thanks for the response Larry. I have a variety of powders at home including Unique and RL7. I will load up a couple of ladders and try them out. I just got a Labradar to help with load development.
Hello All.
I've been reloading rifle and handgun cartridges for about 15 years. This includes jacketed and cast projectiles. I have great success with cast boolits in calibers that include: 380,...
I love my MP hollow-point molds for my 9 and 9.5mm Mannlicher. Unfortunately, he doesn't make a HP mold for 8mm

I recently purchased a Steyr 1893 in 6.5x53R that was listed on Gunbroker. The rifle was covered with black, sticky grunge and nobody had an interest in it. I thought that the old girl could be a...
I thought that I would report on the forum my observations on using PB Blaster Graphite Dry Lubricant on my boolit molds as a release agent.
I had a couple rifle boolit molds (primarily hollow point...
Yes. Original loads would be with Cordite. My understanding is that IMR 3031 can be substituted in equal grains.

I have the dies already. I spent some time out in my reloading area last night. I assembled a small batch of cartridges without issue. The seating die did remove the flare and the rounds chambered....

Hi Gang
I've been reloading cast boolits in my handguns and 45-70 single shot rifle for years with great success. I am beginning to enter the realm of cast boolit reloading in bottle neck...
Hello Gentlemen
I will be taking possession of a M1910 Mannlicher in 9.5x57 early next week. I've been trying to find load data for this cartridge with a 250 gr bullet. The Load Data site lists only...

I have an adjustable drawing die for my 8mm (.318 diam) Mauser. Once I determined the proper diameter, it's easy to draw .323 down to the propper size.

I find that brass is easily made from 300 Winchester Mangnum cases.I simply fun them into the 280 die and trim to length. Easy Peasy! No need to worry about the belt on the case. Brass function fine.

Thanks for the responses guys. I did some loads using 140 gr .284 jacketed bullets. I wasn't impressed with my grouping. Maybe I need to try some 160s. I have toyed with the idea of casting boolits...
