That's what I did. The screw was tight. I have a Ruger screwdriver bit set and found a bit from it that fit near perfectly. however, I can certainly understand wanting to take it to a gunsmith so...

I have the carbine in 357 also. Most of the loading issues went away when I shortened the spring to 4 inches beyond the tube. There is a posting here that talks about this and describes some fixes....
I’m looking at the super wrangler myself. This is first complaint I’ve heard about them. I know a few people with them and they love their wranglers.
DougGuy worked the cylinder for my Model 17. It works flawlessly with no more cases sticking. It’s now a pleasure to shoot.

My first one was Winchester 9422. I had to sell mine to pay for the divorce.
I know the feeling. I purchased a HG 50 8-cavity mold from someone here. It is a great mold so I bought another mold from MP. It is also 8-cavity this time in HG 275. These molds drop bullets...
I haven't held one and it's a 38+P but the Taurus 856 Executive has almost all of what you need. https://www.taurususa.com/executivegrade/taurus-856-executive-grade
I have a 357 Blackhawk that slugged at 0.357". The throats were measured with pin gauges with 3 at 0.357" and the other three at 0.356". I contacted DougGuy here on the forum. He is full of great...
According to my book on Smith and Wesson guns, it was made in 1984. Like others, $1,100 seems about right.

CH makes us Tom dies that can be titanium coated. They once looked through a batch of out of spec dies and found one I needed. They’re behind but real good folks. Give them a call.
This is a little off topic but I have three molds in that size and family where you live. Let me know if you want to try them out or need some bullets try load up. I can see the relatives and get...

I tried the Lee Ergo prime that came with the square trays. It's gone now. it didn't take long for me to get tired of that. I wasn't of the mood to pay for the fix. Then, I bought a FA hand...
Preferred Barrels will make a rifle barrel in that caliber. It’s tempting.
I used to shoot 40s when they first came out. I was in my 20s then. The round is high pressure and can snap some if in the wrong lightweight polymer pistol. I had an original S&W and truly enjoyed...
I get it. I've paid more for gun that it was supposedly worth. It was worth it to me. Enjoy it.
I once had a 15 and a 19 but had to sell them to help pay through a divorce. I always shot the 19 better. I don't know why other than the 19 has the right weight and feel for me. I was able to get...

Dillon sells a powder measure that allows you to use any 7/8” powder measure. It attaches to a 450 powder and expander die. It uses the Dillon powder through expander. I’ll try to remember to get...

I rendered close to 1,000 pounds of lead using the Lee Magnum Melter with no problem. I’ve been casting bullets with that same pot since. I paid $50 for it however long ago it was. It’s been...
I never shoot the hot loads and the Model 19 I ha before the divorce was the best shooter I had. I was able to find a nickel plated one from 1979 that shoots as well. I got lucky. The Model 19...
Everyone I know who owns a Wrangler loves them. I’m interested in seeing one when they arrive.

I’ve purchased several RCBS seater dies for the reasons you state above. Most of them came from Midway. You can also purchase seater dies from other manufacturers. There are a lot of choices.
I paid $700 for one with a nickel, 4-inch barrel 19 a couple months ago. I grabbed it as it seemed to be a good price. I saw a new blued one for $900 at the same time. I'd go for the earlier model...
