Magma/Star lubrisizers do not require a heater base. I have 2 Magma bullet feeders and neither one has a heater base. It will need to be bolted to whatever base/benchtop the sizer is on, though.

What are short dies? I have 4 Stars and never heard of this.

If I needed an element for my master pot I would begin by looking online for a band heater. I did this with one of my RCBS pots when it failed and it has been working fine for years.

Shuetzen is considered by many to be better than most except for Swiss. Certainly better than Goex or even worse, Pyrodex, which is MUCH more corrosive than real BP. I have been shooting BP in SASS...

Also, did you have a case head separation and part of the brass is still stuck in the front of the chamber?

Is this new ammo or reloaded? Is this the first time you have tried to shoot it or have you shot it before? What caliber is stamped on the barrel and the ammo(if the ammo is new)?

Better to get them tested for alloy content by BNE. IMHO

I thought the Hi-Tek WAS lube? So why lube lubed bullets to size? If you have to lube them then why use it all, just use the regular lube and save yourself a lot of work.

I melted down a very similar mixture of type, and had it analyzed by BNE. It came to be pb-72% Sb 19 % Sn 8.5% cn .5 %. If yours is similar then your price is very good.
