It takes about 5 or 6 seconds. A few wrinkles until it gets that hot, then things smooth out.
Dusty, thanks for the link. Yeh, I' m not quite as concerned about the weight as I am about the out-of roundness. .483 - .489 on the same ball is just too much. I just received Dutch Schoultz's...
JonB - Mic is calibrated. Ball measures .489 at parting line, .483 the other way.
Dusty - A possibility, but wanting a 180 gr ball. Right now only 170 gr. Another .007" would get me pretty...
My new Lee .50 cal , .490" round ball mold is dropping balls at .483. Thought about "Lee-menting" them, but .007" is an awful lot to expect. What should I do? Send it back?

I have been watching this thread for a long time now. Saw and tried the rubber-crumb-in-the-5-gal-bucket idea. Works great with 38 Spl., but my 45 Colt hunting loads pass clear through when shot at...

Mine has many, many miles on her, not very purrty, but I've grown to love her. Never let me down and has provided many tasty meals for me. Yep, my wife and Sav. 110 are my babies.

For our Armed Forces men and women sake, I hope they stay with lead. Nice, clean paper-punch holes don't stop a bad guy very good.

If it is in good shape, buy it! I have had mine for over 20 yrs now, and have never been sorry. Very accurate, ugly as sin, kind of heavy, very accurate, very accurate. Oh, did I mention.... ...
The last time I went powder shopping, the shelves were as bare as Ole Mother Hubbard's cubbard. I have 5# of Goex black power. Does anyone use Goex as their go-to? I saw in one of the above posts,...

Feeling kind of uneducated right about now! Can someone explain to me how to use the Lead Calculator? I know just about zilch concerning spreadsheets. Are they what I cover up with at night?:???:

this is the best punishment yet. "may the fleas...perps armpits" for a thousand years!
I might be all wet, but I will continue to use a 158 gr swc of ww lead pushed by 5 grs of 231 for my hoodlum-getters.
I really like my 38 Spl. I can really scare the bajeebers out of those vicious cow pies at 50 yds. :) Don't hit too many of them but come awfully close.
I am wanting to reload for the old .22 Jet, but not sure what mold to get or where I might find one. Don't know if I should use a .222 mold or a .223. This is asuming I can still find dies. ...

I found mine on craigs list in a tiny little town in So. Ia. I was going up there anyway for a funeral so it worked out perfect. Things just don't work out like that for me very often.

Well, I just couldn't wait! I was able to split the lead from the laminate with a hatchet, wedge, hammer, and lots (did I say "lots") of elbow greese. Then smelted and ended up with 81.2# of nice,...

Lloyd and Carbine - Thanks for the help. I tried prying them apart, but your ideas sound much better. I can wait for mother nature to do some of the work for me. Don't have to have it right now as I...

Has anyone done this before? Any advice you can give me would be appreciated. Thanks

I bought a leaded hosp. door for $50. Must weigh 200#! I took a saw to it and discovered the lead is in two very tin layers (maybe 1/16", probably less). Am thinking I will cut it in manageable...
I would have to part with some $$ if a .327 lever-gun was ever produced!
