I use the same bullet, with a heavy dose of 2400.

My RCBS 44-250-K is 265 grains, ready to load. 7 grains of Bullseye for 1050 fps.

If you're open to other powder, I've had very good result with a Keith SWC and 6 or 7 grains of Bullseye. Very consistent, and 6 grains give me around 900-950 fps.

I don't want to be shot by a BB gun, either. That doesn't make a BB gun an adequate home defense weapon.

This one has been doing night (day time, since I work nights) duty for me most of the time....

I load my 265 grain LSWC over either 6 or 7 grains of Bullseye. Out of my S&W M29, felt recoil is comparable to a .45 ACP.

I've been loading 3.5 grains of 231 with that boolit. Gives me 805 fps from my 5 inch S&W M27.

I've been driving my 173 Keith boolits up to 1350 or so with 2400 and no leading in my S&W Model 27. WWs water quenched and lubed with paraffin/axle grease.

I must admit to feeling some sort of vindication after defending to my hunting partners my choice of hunting loads. I use either a .357 or .44 Keith boolit at 1100 fps, give or take.

I normally load 21 grains 2400 with a RCBD 44-250-K which is 265 grains ready to load. That gives about 1310 fps from my 6 inch 29. Going to 22 grains gives right at 1400 fps from both my 6 inch 29...

I really want one of the 20 or 24 inch rifles, but I'm kinda hung up on the 358429. I absolutely love it.

I can only hope that I can get a rifle that will feed it. I'm no fan of the RF boolits.

I don't yet have a rifle to shoot my .357s out of, but I hope to have one soon. With any luck, it will do well with the same load I use with my pistols...358429 and about 14 grains of 2400.
