I have had good luck with my lee 356-125 2R. It feeds well in my Taurus PT 92 and in my Sub2000 carbine. I tumble lube.
I have the Lee 452-230 TL that works in all my pistols and my hi point carbine.
****. Now I have to buy one of these. I'm going to try it out in my Taurus 738 TCP.

Mine is a 6 cavity. I am casting about 68 grains.

So I have a 70 grain NOE mold in addition to this new one from Mihec. The NOE is dropping 70 grain bullets. The same lead batch drops 68 grain on my new Mihec mold. (Yes I have two heavy 223...

Beautiful works of art! I almost hate to pour hot lead into the mold......almost. 90342

I bet my inline at a shade under 7 pounds with its short barrel and composite stock are a big culprit. The thing is light!

I am using sabot's. I was getting pretty erratic results. I didn't know if it was me, the gun or whatever. That's why I posted the OP. I am used to getting 1 moa out past 300 yards with my rifle,...

Impressive groups! I struggle with my open sights out to 100 yards. Do you all find tighter groups with patching or sabots?

Ok guys, what kind of groups do you REALLY get with cast boolits in In-line ML's at 100 yards?

Sweet! I clearly need to expand my garage!

Fly,
Did you ever post your method of making Black Powder? I assume you are using a ball mill. I see how easy it is to get a ball mill. It seems like that method would be a lot less messy than...

By the way. Thanks for the feedback on this question. I love this forum!

So I've been doing a lot of reading and research on smokeless and Holy Black. I agree with a lot of the previous posts. From what I can gather BP is very inefficient at making gas when it burns....

You haven't even seen my set up. I think sharing a mistake is a way for others to avoid a similar mistake. I tried using humor to lighten it up. I know exactly what material I am using. I am very...

I've seen something similar when my mold/melt was too hot, trying to go too fast and didn't open the mold all the way. Same "rip" on multiple bullets like yours.

The squirrels in OK must be a lot bigger than here in Utah. One shot from a ML out here and there wouldn't be much left to eat.

Perfect...that's what I will do. But, you should have cautioned me not to put the HM Black Powder flask into the container holding the Blackhorn.....That dang Blackhorn is too expensive to be...

So....how many squirrels does it take to make a gumbo?

I have a scale for my reloading. Would 60 grains be a good place to start?
Forum: Muzzleloading.
Fly, I'm using the CIA method. I don't have a ball mill.

Bob I didn't think about weighing it. I did volumetric measurements. It did seem "fluffy". I'm not even sure how much it should weigh at full charge.

Were those Flint-lock AR's or In-line? :bigsmyl2:

I smelled the smoke....Shot the cast bullet.....now I'm hooked! I was able to get out and try it out. I used a Lee .452 300 grain that I cast in addition to a Lee REAL 250 grain (Thanks Kenjuudo)...
