Ah, that makes too much sense. I figured commercial mauser but didn't look at the pictures of the mark x and kept looking at FN, etc. Guess I need a new rifle to go with my new trigger.

Here's the other side. Single set with a safety but not sure if that was factory or custom. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20170522/573698e005790e26a6b6e2cf72c2bbd3.jpg

I've got an older Canjar catalog and several triggers but I've not seen this model listed. It's the mmx-1 mauser trigger. With only one commercial mauser in the safe that already has a Canjar I...

Well... 30-06 and 308 have the same diameter so... Use whatever is cheaper. (308 blanks maybe?)

Bill, I think they call it a 300 blackout ;) I don't know of anyone making a fast twist carbine barrel.

Here's the bullets I make with the round nose. There is a little taper but I think they'd feed in the appropriate weight. http://castboolits.gunloads.com/showthread.php?t=308858

Yep, round nose profile will let you use lead tip. I've got a trim set to trim down 5.7 brass but I haven't played with it yet to get an idea on weights. My 30 cal set does have a point finishing...

I've got a round nose profile I use for heavy 30 cal but I don't see why it wouldn't work for the 5.7 bullets. Thing is, might be a bit heavy for caliber unless you trim them.

Now now... no reason to turn this into a battle.
There's a BIG difference in price between a hand cranked tool and a powered machine.
I have chuckbuster's Ultimate Cannelure tool and it is an...

I didn't even know he made one... that's cool.

Well that's not helping me avoid buying something like a .458 socom lol

I've purchased a couple dies from Kelly... He's not the greatest communicator and he supposedly has health issues but I have always received everything I ordered. For a long time I thought he was a...

You'll be very happy with it. I've got 2 Walnut Hill presses and a smaller Sea Girt. They are fine machines. Save me from myself and buy the extra punch holders from kc ;)

My gut feeling is to do what Dino suggests... Take your cores, powdercoat, then point as normal. You don't really care about the thinning powder coat on the ogive... That's going to be the most...

He confirmed he's got someone working on the website.
What's scary though is he mentioned he's considering canceling Walnut Hill production.... yikes!

I shot Richard an email this morning letting him know it was down. No reply yet but I guess he got it squared away. I know he's been talking about making some changes to how he takes payment, etc so...

Where in NC are ya? I'm probably not in the market myself but I may be able to have a look. I'll send you a PM.

This is the swaging forum... Anneal that stuff and make 458 jackets!

308 based cases can be used to make as heavy of .458 as you care to make. Will require trimming though so you're talking a relatively time intense process.
I've got the tooling to size the 308...

You absolutely can do it... I'm guessing you're thinking subsonic slugs to throw through a suppressor. Remember there's a wire that's pushing the bullet back out of the mold. It's going to be pushing...

So... here's the thing. This hobby isn't one where you're going to just be able to look up a recipe and get exactly the same results. (Maybe one exception is using cartridge brass for jackets...) I...

You must have a better scale than I do. That seems a bit of a stretch considering the brass itself isn't THAT consistent.[/COLOR]

Oh I'm plenty capable of doing it... It just takes a heck of a lot longer than opening a box and having them ready to go ;)
