I found that if I'm willing to accept a full grey rather than shiny finish by running hot enough to almost but not quite frost them I can skip the added tin.

I didn't make it. I wish I was that skilled. An IDPA shooter I met while living over in SC makes them in his spare time.

I shoot IDPA at an indoor range sometimes. I have been hit several times with boolit pieces splashing back off the trap. Had a piece stick into my shirt (but not break the skin) this past Monday....
