Have some mystery ingots. The small ones between the muffin ingots here. I think the shiny ones on the right are foundry type or something like that. Not sure about the others guess I'll have to...
I've been a caster now since August 2009.
I decided to collect all the loads I've developed so far to a point I consider successful (no leading, desired velocity, acceptable accuracy and reliable...
Since I don't hunt with a handgun I'd have to say my 2.5" model 66-3. It could even be pressed to hunting duty in a pinch.
I used to always answer this question with my 6.5" 629 Classic but...

I just tried 5.4 gr under Lee's 356-120-TC which drops at 124 for me. They only averaged 1014 for me out of my XD-9. I was hoping for 1050 or so.
I have a batch of 124gr XTPs I loaded up over...
I sort of have another. A couple years ago my pa-in-law calls me out of the blue and asks me if I'm going to let my son (then 4) have guns when he's older.
I said "sure if he shows me he is...
I have two. Neither all that nice and I can't post the pics without telling the stories.
The Charles Daly is my first. Purchased circa 1998 IIRC. It was the first auto pistol I made peace with....

Thanks, Mrs. Goodsteel.
In honor of the day here's my little buddy doing his favorite thing to help me in the reloading room yesterday. Decapping cases.

I've only tried it once using the start charge Accurate recommends for a 220gr lead (or as close as my Lee Auto Disk would get).
I was impressed with the velocity but need to test them some more...

My range had our annual picnic and swap meet today. Someone was selling two unopened cans of No. 7 for $9 each.
I have a .44 mag load for it that shows potential. I need to do more testing though....

I found that if I'm willing to accept a full grey rather than shiny finish by running hot enough to almost but not quite frost them I can skip the added tin.

I mostly use crayons that restaurants give my kids. Also paint stir sticks from time to time.

I don't know that SP-101s have ever been made in blue. I clean mine the traditional way but it has been wet many times. Most commonly I sweat on it while doing yard work. It was in my pocket on a...

Pray for God's comfort. I have for you all just now. Just remember that the best healing from this fallen and imperfect world is to be home with Him.

I didn't make it. I wish I was that skilled. An IDPA shooter I met while living over in SC makes them in his spare time.

I shoot IDPA at an indoor range sometimes. I have been hit several times with boolit pieces splashing back off the trap. Had a piece stick into my shirt (but not break the skin) this past Monday....
That's a beauty! My 2.5 inch 66-3 loves the Lee 140gr SWC.

It won't stay that neat for long. That's why I took the picture. I'd be casting tonight but I hurt all over from the floor mopping I've been doing.

Try a starting charge of Trail Boss. Pushed a Lee TL 240 sec out of my 6.5" 629 Classic around 800 fps with less recoil than my .380 Bersa
