We had a car come into our dealership last year because it was making a "funny noise" . When the mechanic opened the hood, he found a kitten curled up on the intake. Noise found and repaired!

Eddie17, My guess would be to check it against a standard (those rods in the drawer on the bottom of the box) and adjust as needed. If it was damaged, then a trip to the factory may be in order. We...

JMorris, that picture really takes me back. I was a machinist at a local shipyard back in the late 70's and we had a set of those. Starrett makes some wonderful tools.

It looks like you have a 1" to 2" mic which will work fine for measuring handgun OAL. You may be better off finding a dial caliper, which has a wider range and just plain easier to use. I use mics...

I wear nitrile (sp?) gloves and dump them in a tray made from 1/4" hardware cloth. After baking, I pull out the tray and give it a good shake to break apart any that are stuck. Haven't seen any...

I bought a Sig 229 that was a police trade-in. Gun is in excellent condition. I found out about it from one of my friends who happens to be retired from that department and knows the officer who...
I think we need a little more info. How much powder, OAL, things like that.
I just use a towel with some foam rubber under it. Haven't had a problem so far.

Just a thought but you may want to open the container of paint and place it in a sealed container alongside some Damp Rid. The Damp Rid may pull the moisture out for you. Again, just a thought.

Bid on a Glock 23 Gen 2 but the price was too high so I walked away. Stopped by my LGS and they had a used 23c Gen 3 for 50 bucks less. Couldn't walk away from that deal.

I used white Airsoft BB's. Of course I had to buy a bazillion of them but they worked just fine. I swirl them around in the bowl for about a minute before adding the powder and bullets.

Did you add some Airsoft BB's to the mix? That seems to be the trick to creating static electricity. I tried PC last week for the first time and got really good results.

That's how my bench is set up, a window fan in front of the pot pulling air out and the back door open. The only problem I have is if the wind is blowing from the north and blows back through the...

I've used all but the Perfecta, Midway, and Browning with no problems. But I'm like you, I tend to stick with the "usual suspects."

A Sig 229 police trade-in. One of the guy's I work with is a former officer from the department it came from and knows the guy who carried it. I thought that was pretty cool.
MT, being as how I'm new to casting I'm curious about keeping softwood away from molds. What affect does it have on molds?

From my very limited experience, I find that a pair of cutters work just fine and usually the zinc WW"s will have Zn stamped on it. They will also float in molten lead.

That's what's so great about this place, so many different ways of doing things. all kinds of cool stuff to learn.

That sounds like a good idea. Think I'll give it a try.
