He had a nice 10 pt. come in at dusk but it was after a doe and would not stop moving.

If your shooting out to or past 100 yards you need the speed. But I think 1,700 to 1,800 is plenty fine at closer ranges as long as you hit the vitals. Miss those even with a factory hunting round...
I wonder how Henry is doing with their new Big Boy wheel guns? Hopefully they are made to shoot cast well. Have not been able to handle one yet but I do like the bird's head gripped one.
Enjoy that Wheel gun. My S&W's all seem to have throats close to the spec groove diameter. With that piece I would try a 20/1 alloy with medium pressures to start. I got a set of pin gauges. ...

Just picked up a Begara B14 Hunter in woodland camo. 22" 1/10 barre.l Got some Talley integral med. rings coming for it and an on hand like new Leupold 3.5 - 10 VX 3 optic that is about 10 years...
it's kind of a shame that the Morrel mushrooms coincide with deer tick season. I used to hunt those to eat before the tick thing got so serious.
Which means I can go mushroom hunting now that the ticks are knocked back. Will be looking for Birch polypore and Turkey Tail for medicinal use.

Surely better than nothing. 158 gr. #2 alloy wfp pushed as fast as is safe in your firearm. I remember watching a bear hunting video from Alaska where the guide warned the client to be quiet after...

I was using ballistic tipped .308 for deer and kept blowing up the hearts. Wanted to try eating one so i switched to core locked bullets. My Son served deer heart to a Korean engineer from his work...

The convex blade geometry on these Bark Rivers is amazing. You will need a strop to maintain the edge. I got a set of Micro Mesh pads off Amazon. 9 grits from 1500 up to 12,000 and they put a...

We had a water pump die in our Koi pond. It had a nice long heavy duty power cord attached to it and my plain edged pocket knife sliced through it like butter. Now I have a nice spare cord. Keep...

Thank you M-Tecs. I learned about that today. The show was a bit slow it seemed. Not as much discretionary cash around? Still it was fun. Gun Culture Fellowship and all that.

This has always been a pretty good show. I'm going on Saturday morning. Maybe trade an AK to a dealer for a Tisas .45 if I can. I should have gotten a table since I need to lighten my load of gun...

I think the naitives are more concerned with their visitors from the south. As always, listen more than you talk and don't drink too much.

Well, the Bravo 1 is a beast. Blade stock is .217" and with a convex grind the edge is tough as hell. Sheath is comfortable and secure. Came shaving sharp and it is recommended to just strop it...

The old timers used wax to protect their carbon steel blades. Hornady One Shot case lube is a wax in a carrier and would probably work well. Or just the same oily rag you use on your guns. Letting...

I have several MP HP molds. .38, .44 & .45. Have yet to shoot anything with them. If I lived in the sticks I would at least have been able to test one on a racoon or something.

I field dressed my first deer with a Swiss Army knife and that helped me understand that you could do plenty with a small easy to carry knife. I carry a razor sharp Civivi Baklash flipper nearly...

I would stick with the 2400. It has given me fine results with .308 and 30-30 cast loads. Just before all the nonsense started I scored 500 primed Lake City 7.62 cases from pulled down ammo and...

Both Bark Rivers from DLT Trading. The first is a Fin and Bone in Magnacut. Sounds like the steel has stainless properties along with with toughness. We shall see. This will stay in the kitchen. ...

I was just thinking about the BOR and "Honor your Father and Mother" popped into my head. After I thought about that for a while I decided that they shared similar places of importance.
My local FFL is a retired cop. He was telling me that when it was brandy sippin time at the hunting camp, they would sit in lawn chairs and shoot an old .38 spl. BA smith at a tin can or something.
