You bought the gun - then afterwards asked for opinions.
Isn't that backwards?
You should ask for opinions - then decide to buy (or not buy).

Yes, it is! I use the sister Blue Mag pellets currently.
Black Mag in my opinion, is much-much cleaner than Pyrodex. A great partner for inline shooters. I even like it better than Blackhorn 209....

I once owned 8 and now have 3 in 50cal..... perfect for me.
Forum: Muzzleloading.
I was talking inline ML..... which all have removable plugs.
Forum: Muzzleloading.
...... and where have all the 50-cal 1/66 twist, half-stock roundball rifles gone?
Since inlines are so market-hot these days, I would even purchase an Inline 1/66 twist...... if someone made one....

Having more than just one lube for New Hampshire weather variations is the ticket. Some like to shoot in warmer weather too. I have no idea on how Mink Oil fares in warm weather. In those temps,. I...

Yep, Mink Oil is what you want XTR, especially if you want to check on it and not find it frozen, days later out in the garage.

Some of us don't judge a powder brand by bullet speed. Accuracy, availability nearby, % of mess inside the bore and price matters too in the decision.

You must not own one Tommie. You spelled Lyman wrong.
I live in a highly populated area north of Detroit Michigan and none of the big boy hunting stores even sell the Lyman pistol here - nor have...

Agree.... Swiss, followed by Olde Eynsford.
I can't find either around here. Must go to Bass Pro Shop for my Goex. I use one jug every 2 years....lol

I think Wano is in their rear view mirror these days.
I heard Grafs is now Schuetzen relabeled.

Seems we all have a particular ML barrel where brass brushing is really tight. I don't dare brass-ramrod my inline Knight Vision without oil. Even the wettest cleaners like Butch's Blackpowder Bore...

Grafs is cheaper for the small volume buyer. Around $20 Hazmat plus around $7 for shipping.

Unless you live near a desert, get rid of your American pioneer FF. It draws moisture easily, probably even if you were to leave the jug on your bathroom sink when flushing your toilet.

If you ever find an old CVA or Traditions with a twist in the 60s (that's lighter than the Mountain Rifle), please PM / Email me.
I once had a CVA Plainsman 1-66 twist and sold it 15-16 years ago....

I don't miss using T7. Had you shot 15-20 instead of 7, you may have froze shut / seized up both your nipple threads and your bolster drum screw threads.
Your Frontier's Anti-Rust & Patch Lube...

My Black or Blue MZ (pellets) doesn't hang-fire like Blackhorn does for me (T/C / Knight). The most best bullet speeds matters-not to me. I only shoot up-to 100 grains max anyways. Many times you...

Another vote for hotter primers like Federal 209A, CCI-Mag and Winchester 209. Another vote for Black MZ loose powder.

Do a Google Search on Doc White. Or go to gunbroker.com and do a search on used White muzzleloaders. Most of em' were built to shoot conicals.

You are somehow lucky to have all those muzzleloaders with big drums to accomodate those nearby rock-salt-sized granules of American Pioneer powder. Even the Pioneer FFF has abnormally large granules.

Offer them for sale locally for half-price. Or go buy an inline and bulk pistol / revolver ammo. You can buy 50-pk sabots cheap. Then find a place to shoot and have fun all summer-long, burning thru...

Granules are really large and the synthetic powder is a moisture grabber.
