I changed the model to use the reloading setting and grabbed a pic of it. I think with the adapter for the shell holder in the ram the ram should be able to touch the bottom of the sizing die like...
I finally got around to trying the Lee 220gr in my 338-06. My bore slugged at .339 so I had to make a .340 sizing die. So my boolits are sized at .340 using Carnuba Red lube. I used Rick's 2520...

Yes it is for the cross plate to tie the links together. I think I didn't do the plate in the drawings because it was so simple and I didn't feel like drawing a rectangle with 4 holes in it :). I...

Yeah, I guess I shouldn't try to do simple arithmetic at 1 in the morning :groner:.
I added the 3.25 dimension to the drawing and some how I wrote back 7.5" instead of 6.5". You are also right...

Here is the new drawing with the correction noted above. There are a couple of other minor tweaks... The toggle dimensions have changed slightly and I think I added a shoulder to the arm.

Sprinkintime,
You are correct the center to center of the two slots is 7.5". I will fix the drawing. As for the edge dimension do you mean the thickness? If so it is 1".

Ok, guys. I guess you have to be a master machinist to lay out some holes in some plate and drill them. I did qualify that the ram and top plate would probably have to be jobbed out if you don't...

The only real tricky part is the ram. The top plate is a little bit tricky only because the cost of a tap if you don't have a lathe to thread it (or don't like to single point
threads). Every...

You need the spring to keep the internal punch down on the up stroke. I just didn't put it into the drawing.

I use the Lee 500gr mold. It seems to work pretty well.

You think that that the one on the left is aluminum? I have one similar and it is cast iron. I even found some docs online that show how to set it up to be a swage press.

It's so you can but one of these:

in each side. Or you could change it to suit a different bearing. I just used...

Sorry Rock. It works for me (and it looks like other, based on my server logs). If you get me your email I can send you the file that way.

Thanks for the compliments. I see from your last picture I also forgot the pin retaining set screw holes in the toggle arms. I'm sure though that anyone that builds the press and gets that far will...

Ok, I'll make the changes.
Thanks for the feedback. Alot of the stuff that I put into the model were guesses.
I don't think that the toggle arms need to be keyed. With a good fit up and...

This is my first post but I have been reading off and on trying to learn about swaging. This thread is very interesting. I figured I would try to model the press and create drawings for those that...
